Akashiya, a company with over 300 years of brush making experience, has been very successful at developing a quality line of modern brush pens. This brush pen is ideal for writing postcards, New Year greetings, and for calligraphy. The light bamboo-looking body has an artificial fiber brush tip with a resiliency very close to real hair. Great performance for the price. Black, gray and red ink colors available.

I have this and slightly larger version that is refillable. They have good nibs, hold a good amount of ink and are closer in size a other brush pens then their larger Pentel cousins. Their compact size makes it easier to carry around in a case and the hard barrel is nice because you do not worry about the ink being squeezed out and can grip the brush anywhere.
