I want to add an update since my last review. I just did a sketch on this paper, which I still say is a mid-weight. I used my A.G. Spalding fountain pen medium nib which provide a nice saturated flow. I heavily colored in some dark areas of the sketch using Waterman ink and it did not bleed through to the back of the page. I was surprised and impressed.

Not bad, but I'm a little sad. I bought this because I like my Moleskine sketchbooks and this, I believed, would be very close (and the price was right.) I just compared the paper to my old Moleskine sketchbook and it's definitely thinner which is a big disappointment. The description calls this heavy paper. I disagree. It's more of a mid-weight. If you were planning to use this book for adding watercolor to your sketches - I don't recommend it. I will be fine for pencil or ballpoint sketches. I probably won't reorder this.

I love this sketch book for using with fountain pens and inks! So far, it has held up to the juiciest of the juicy nibs--the Noodler's Neponset with music nib. Forget Moleskine, this book is where it's at for fountain pen lovers.

I have found that this heavy weight paper is not only good for pen and ink, but is also excellent for watercolors. It doesn't behave like watercolor paper would, but it holds the color without bleed, and it doesn't wrinkle so much that you can't still work with it. It dries faster than watercolor paper (maybe it's just my sketch/painting style)...nevertheless, it's really versatile. I am really pleased with this purchase and I love this paper.

This sketch book is exactly what I wanted! I would say that the pages are fairly heavy weight compared to what I normally work with. It can take quite a bit of saturation from fountain pen ink before it bleeds through and there seems to be barely any feathering, if any at all. Watercolors and drawing inks warp the paper slightly and there is a small amount of bleed through if you are heavily saturating the paper.
Copics bleed heavily through this paper but that's to be expected.
Overall I recommend this sketchbook to anyone who wants a high quality moleskine alternative at a fraction of the price.
