I know it says in it's...
I know it says in it's description that it's pretty good with Watercolors &
Acrylic, but it really... isn't. The paper warps into waves a bit when you put
too much water on it, and tends to only hold up to gentle watercolor usage. And
Lord help you if you try and use it for acrylics - the heavier your paint, the
more likely it will curl.
That being said, I love using it for Inks & Makers. The pens I've used on it
(Fabercastell, Mircon, & Prisma artist pens, plus Papermate Flairs) don't bleed
through at all, and both crayola and coptic markers can be used without seeing
the drawing on the other side. The only thing that bleeds through are sharpie
makers, but that was kind of expected (I haven't tried the sharpie pens on it
though). Otherwise, 60 sheets can turn into 120 pages worth of front & back
maker drawings, which makes it a good value.
The paper is smooth enough for pen usage, and has enough tooth in it that
colored pencils work just fine on it. It's also a brilliant bleach white that
might hurt your eyes if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, but gives nice
contrast to any color you put on it.
Overall, it's a good sketchbook, but not a great multimedia sketchbook. I like
to buy it in bulk at other places since it's cheaper, but it's not a bad
purchase if you bought 10$ worth of pens here and want free shipping.
