I absolutely LOVE this...
I absolutely LOVE this ink, which does look like syrah. I almost always have one pen loaded with it (usually a Vanishing Point with F nib), because writing with it is a little pleasure to break up the day's stress.

It's more complimented by people who see it than all of my other inks combined.

But it does often make me want to pour a glass of wine. heh

diamine has three to...

diamine has three to four dark red/brown inks that are popular. Ancient copper, Red Dragon, Ox-blood and Syrah. Out of these, judging on colour + ink behaviour, this is the best. There is a burgundy colour that is bright and the ink presents no problem. Most importantly, the colour of this ink doesn't change based on paper.

Gorgeous, gorgeous ink....
Gorgeous, gorgeous ink. I get a lot of people gawking at it when they see it. I haven't owned many inks thus far, but this is definitely one of my favorites because of the color. When dry, it's a lovely deep, red wine color. My only complaints -- it feathers on some of my papers, although it does well with plain white copier paper; it also doesn't hold up very well to water, so keep this one out of the rain!

Reviews for several colors...

Reviews for several colors of Diamine ink appear here for some reason; this review is for Diamine Syrah. This ink is a beautiful wine color which has changed my mind in favor of using a red ink for writing at length. It comes out of the pen looking a brighter red, but becomes slightly purplish as it dries. One positive feature that I did not expect is that it has fair water resistance. I soaked a test page, and it only faded and blurred slightly, remaining quite legible. I'll be getting more of this when I start to run low.
