  Diamine's "Oxblood" is..., December 1, 2011
By kib...
Diamine's "Oxblood" is a very dark maroon/burgundy color. On glossy bright white paper, it'll be an amazing nearly-dry blood color, especially if your pen is wet enough to have it bead up nicely at the ends of strokes. On matte paper, where colors always look darker, it'll be a reddish-black (the color of a ripe dark cherry's skin.)

It reminds me of the "Burgundy" color of the Marvy/Uchida Calligraphy markers. It's darker than the Kuretake Zig Letter Pen CocoIro's "Bordeaux" color (which JetPens sells as "blood red".)

I think this is the darkest red in the current Diamine range. If you want a red that's a little more vivid, you might consider Diamine's "Maroon".

The bottle is, as expected, heavy glass with a hard plastic cap, but note that you might not get the marbled green cap shown in the photos here -- my bottle has a solid black cap.

Amazing burgundy colour...., December 5, 2012
Amazing burgundy colour. It's been lauded as an ink that really looks like blood, and I have to agree. Think Diamine Syrah and Red Dragon mixed with a little bit of Waterman Havana brown. Note that when it's smeared, there's a bit more purple in the red than what you'd expect from actual blood, but the effect when concentrated is stunning.

It feathers a little bit on really, really cheap recycled papers, but otherwise it's very well behaved. It's dark enough on any paper that it doesn't look like correction or notation ink.

Oxblood color is true to its name. It is a dark purple-y, red. On white and ivory paper the color is saturated. This isn't exactly the color I was looking for, but I got exactly what I bought. I'm still looking for a deep, dark red without purple or brown undertones.

This is a deep blue ink with a GORGEOUS golden sheen. It's truly reminiscent of the light from a sunset reflecting off lazy ocean waves.

This review is from Diamine Ink for Fountain Pens - 80 ml Bottle - Bilberry Blue
I find Bilberry Blue to be a very attractive dark blue ink. It satisfies my desire for an ink which is truly blue, although very dark, with no overt evidence of black or teal. The color delights me. Worth the buy if you feel strongly about dark blue ink. For example, if you think Sheaffer blue is a very nice color, but not quite dark enough for all purposes, this might be what you're looking for.

Flows very well in my Plaisir and Lamy pens and I used this ink with a glass dip pen. A wetter nib might show color variation more easily but I have not observed much variation on the few pages I have written so far. A 'fun' purple for happy correspondence - if you prefer a more subdued, 'conservative' color that is purple I have tried the J. Herbin Poussiere De Lune and it is much less 'showy' than this color.

This review is from Diamine Ink for Fountain Pens - 80 ml Bottle - Blue Black
Lovely smooth flowing ink. Be advised this is not true blue black but that's not what I wanted. I would say it is more of a deep dark teal color (again exactly what I was looking for). I think the picture of the inks is very accurate for the color. I ordered this after a reccommendation from jetpens and it was just what I was looking for. LOVE this ink. LOVE jetpens!

Eclipse is a soft but..., September 27, 2012
This review is from Diamine Ink for Fountain Pens - 80 ml Bottle - Eclipse Black
Eclipse is a soft but still quite dark black. I'm not sure if that's the best way to describe it... it doesn't tend to shade to gray, as some other blacks (Diamine Jet Black is a good example, and one I unfortunately have much experience with). Eclipse is dark and rich, but not at all a pure black or a sharp (crisp?) black. The blue-purple tones soften it quite a bit.

I really like the color, but I have to admit that when I saw the swatch, I hoped the blue-purple tones would be more apparent. Unless I angle my paper just so and peer at it quite closely, I can only catch a faint hint of it, using my Waterman Kultur fine nib. Maybe a medium or broad nib would show it off, but I don't have any at hand to see (even the Waterman fine is a little too wide for me - I like EF or the F of Japanese pens most).

Bleedthrough on regular paper isn't bad, mostly only in spots where I hesitated with the pen or made multiple strokes, and there's very little feathering so far except on super cheap paper, which is nice.

If you're looking for a black ink, this is a respectable option, but definitely consider reviews with writing samples!

This review is from Diamine Ink for Fountain Pens - 80 ml Bottle - Syrah Red
I absolutely LOVE this ink, which does look like syrah. I almost always have one pen loaded with it (usually a Vanishing Point with F nib), because writing with it is a little pleasure to break up the day's stress.

It's more complimented by people who see it than all of my other inks combined.

But it does often make me want to pour a glass of wine. heh

This review is from Diamine Ink for Fountain Pens - 80 ml Bottle - Steel Blue
I adore this color! But it took a few pages of writing for it to grow on me. At first I was not that excited because it was a lot brighter than I had been imagining and I felt that it was more teal blue than steel blue. But whatever they decide to call it is not of much consequence once you have a chance to absorb and enjoy the color.
I am using this ink witha Lamy Safari EF

Nice solid Black. Minimal bleed. Almost no feathering, even on cheap paper. Is not extremely contrasty, and does exhibit some shading.
I do prefer a darker black, but for rapid journal writing it will flow. It just might be for you.

This review is from Diamine Ink for Fountain Pens - 80 ml Bottle - Syrah Red
Reviews for several colors of Diamine ink appear here for some reason; this review is for Diamine Syrah. This ink is a beautiful wine color which has changed my mind in favor of using a red ink for writing at length. It comes out of the pen looking a brighter red, but becomes slightly purplish as it dries. One positive feature that I did not expect is that it has fair water resistance. I soaked a test page, and it only faded and blurred slightly, remaining quite legible. I'll be getting more of this when I start to run low.

This review is from Diamine Ink for Fountain Pens - 80 ml Bottle - Eclipse Black
I bought this looking for a "black" ink that would really stand out, and it's a definite favourite so far.

Blacks that dry to a grey just don't please me, but this remains satisfyingly dark. When I'm feeling creative, I can get it to show a bit of purple, which I personally love.

Sherwood Green is an astonishingly pretty dark green color, angling more towards blue than yellow, with great flow and coverage. The ink is not transparent at all and it is a pleasure to write with it.

This is the best blue black color on the market, but there is a problem. It dries in my pens and I end up rinsing out the dried residue all too often. I see in reviews that others have had the same experience. Nevertheless I'll keep using it.

This review is from Diamine Ink for Fountain Pens - 80 ml Bottle - Hope Pink
I keep this ink in my pink Lamy Safari at all times because the ink matches the barrel color so well. I find the ink very saturated with not much shading but then I use a fine nib so how much shading are you going to get? This pink definitely has some blue undertones and is very striking when I use it on my calendar - a great shocking pink color.

This review is from Diamine Ink for Fountain Pens - 80 ml Bottle - Pumpkin Orange
This ink is very saturated in my broad nib pen. It is a strong red orange color and definitely resembles the photo of the inside of the cap. I swiped an orange Expo dry erase marker underneath a line of writing and it was exactly the same color. I like this ink but then I don't like "washed out" colors. This will be a fun ink to use this fall!

Deep, dark green! Very rich color, it looks fantastic on ivory (and white) paper! I put this ink in my Lamy Studio (fine nib) and noticed shading from dark green to almost black. I'm really happy with the color and quality of this Diamine ink.

This review is from Diamine Ink for Fountain Pens - 80 ml Bottle - Twilight Blue
A newbie's option on this ink:

For my first foray into using a fountain pen converter I chose this ink as I felt it would be functional for work and yet different enough in shade that I would have some fun with it as well. I basically did not want to buy a fuchsia pink color that would only be suitable in specific circumstances.

I have not been disappointed with this ink at all. It is my initial run through with ink however, so I am not sure if that is just a newbie's opinion.

This shade is slightly different than the eyedropper swatch available. I thought that the swatch showed a bit of shading and that the ink was a bit more blue. There is almost no shading and the color is what I am thinking is a grey-blue, perhaps even gunmetal blue.

I do really like it and I am glad I chose this shade for my first go around! I am having a lot of fun with it so far.
