Field Notes Color Cover Memo Book - County Fair - 3.5" x 5.5" - 48 Pages - 5 mm Graph - Pack of 3 - California

DescriptionSpecifications
These County Fair Field Notes are a celebration of the 50 U.S. states, featuring an individual state in each pack of 3. The 100 lb linen covers are blue, red, and yellow, representing the colors of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place County Fair ribbons. The covers are printed in metallic gold, and the back covers list state facts and figures. The pages inside are printed in a light blue gray graph pattern.

Like other Field Notes books, these are durable and flexible, designed to survive any pant pocket. They are bound with a rugged three-staple saddle-stitch process. Inside the front cover, you can write in your contact information and, with a sense of humor, indicate whether or not the person who returns your lost book will be rewarded. The inside back cover lists "practical" applications for the memo books such as #02, "Corn Dog Batter Recipes". The Field Notes story and further specifications are also presented. The books are manufactured and printed in the USA.

This pack includes 3 memo books, each containing 48 pages (24 sheets).

I was shocked to find how beautifully crafted these booklets are for the great price of $10! Super durable covers that seem to be very thinly laminated (water & tear resistance) and are just a steal for the price. Very smooth and work well with all types of writing instruments. You will want many more field notes booklets!

Lavvv this. Like the previous reviewer stated, this California State FN memo book's cover is of thicker stock. Not like "WHOA THAT'S THICK" but it's noticeably more durable than the regular FN memo book's covers. I turned one into a planner/scheduler (monthly) and I love it. I've given up on the other famous 3x5 notebook brand due to the paper quality being quite flimsy, and will continue buying Field Notes instead.

It wasn't until I bought later editions of Field Notes (Red Blooded, National Crop) that I realized that this County Fair set has better card stock. Hard to describe, but the cover stock has a more gridded texture with some type of waxy coating, whereas other Field Notes I've purchased are just uncoated matte cardstock. Excellent colors, and since I'm a Californian, I have a special affinity for this set.

I want to like these notebooks, I really do. I do love the size, but the longevity and paper quality just aren't there. I carried one around for perhaps a month before the cover fell off. If you use fountain pens, don't even think about it -- the bleedthrough and feathering are intense. But for relatively light use (or maybe people who go through notebooks faster than I do) with something like gel ink or pencil, these are fine. They just won't work for me; for that price point, I can get better notebooks (Clairefontaine has an equivalent size for $3 apiece).
