Fluid Watercolor Paper offers exceptional quality and selection at an affordable price. The paper is made slowly in small batches, allowing the mill masters to achieve a level of strength and working integrity normally found only in more expensive mould-made papers.

This Easy-Block pad is glued along two edges to keep the paper from buckling as you paint. Once the sheet is dry, use a dull knife or letter opener to remove the sheet from the block. You can see a demonstration video in the photos section.

  • 15 sheets of 140 lb (300 gsm), acid-free, cold press watercolor paper.
  • Glued binding on two edges to prevent the paper from buckling when wet.

This is the 6" x 8" watercolor paper block. Photos of a painting feature the 4" x 6" block.

I have used this watercolor...

I have used this watercolor paper for years and love it dearly. It holds pigment incredibly well, doesn't fade, and the texture of it is wonderful--subtle like most cold pressed papers, and very even and uniform. With it being glued down on two sides, the paper stays where it's supposed to. Sometimes the glue can get a bit loose though, so be careful when pulling the paper off. I've never had a single issue of it pilling up if there's too much water involved, or even when erasing pencil lines after it's dried.

Good paper for the price, and one of the few papers offered in this size. The "block' format (glued on two edges) means it won't warp even with a lot of water on it, eliminating the need to stretch or tape it down. When I need a new sheet, I just open one of the glued edges with a knife or my fingernail, and many times the old painting will stay in the pad via the remaining edge, resulting in a kind of "notepad" of the old work I can flip through. This also allows you to use both sides of the paper if you want: adding a lot of water to the second side will warp the paper if you don't tape/stretch it, but you CAN use both sides if you just want to experiment or sketch. The paper does tend to "pill" if you overwork it, so it's not great for rewetting and scrubbing, but hey, it's cheap! Great for sketching out ideas and for when you're first learning.

Perfect size for making my own A2 notecards to send to penpals! The added convenience of it being glued down to keep the paper from bending is just A+++
