Sleek and stylish, but...,

Sleek and stylish, but not very functionable. As the other reviews have stated,
it stops after only a bit of pressure. This isn't effective for drawing at all,
even if you want to get the fine details. The erasures also stick on the page
and you really need to wipe it off as opposed to just blowing or lightly
dusting.
If you're going to spend money on an electric eraser, I suggest the Sakura
Electric SE2000 (which I also own). It's about 3 times the price and uses AAA
batteries which I don't like, but it definitely gets the job done.
I wish I could have said the same for the Hinodewashi.

I love this thing. It's small and easy to carry. It will stop if you press hard
but really if you are pressing that hard you are probably damaging the paper.
You only need a soft touch for this to remove the lead.

I love all things Japanese, esp. their mechanical and drafting. I always thought
that everything the Japanese put on the market is good, but not so for the
Hinodewashi Electric Eraser.
Stay away from the Hinodewashi if you want to be able to erase any pencil marks.
As one of the reviewers said, it is extremely weak. It does stop when you put it
to paper to erase a pencil mark. The motor is a tiny one and does not put out
much strength. In other words, it is practically useful in erasing anything. I
got one and regretted it. I am now looking for another one, and am gun shy about
small electric erasers due to my experience with Hinodewashi. However, the same
reviewer said the Sakura is good so maybe I will give that one a try.

the review is to keep your money in your pocket...i love jetpens, ive spent much
money here, but my fellow eraser enthusiasts and artists i must warn you that
this eraser is no good. simply put its extremely weak, it will stop upon
touching the paper. i have a good just about every major electric eraser
available, and recommend the Sakura Electric SE2000 its the best

Yes, I know about this eraser because my mother is Japanese. This eraser is
quite good, even though in the Japanese market, there are more better quality
ones. Anyway, it is a good eraser. At since this is the only electric eraser
that JetPens sells, I will have to say that it is the best one that JetPens
sells.

I was comparing electric erasers a few days ago to buy for school. I might be
taking a few art classes and was considering buying the sakura electric cordless
eraser, but this eraser is a third the price of the sakura eraser at the dick
blick store! I hope this eraser works well. The sakura takes two AAA batteries
and this only takes one AA which is also more convenient for me. The eraser
refills are more expensive here than the sakura refills at dick blick's if you
compare them by unit, but I don't need to get 70 packs of eraser refills, the
smaller more compact size here is perfect for me. I really hope this eraser
works well, then I'll be happy I waited instead of buying that expensive sakura
eraser!

eh, not worth the money.
I highly suggest the Boxy-black eraser, seriously, check it out.
I've bought about 4 boxy-black, and the best so far.

August 8, 2009
so, i finally tried out this eraser i bought a year ago and i found that it was
not very good. i have a pretty light hand so it erased my pencil mistakes
perfectly but the ink eraser was not as good. the ink eraser basically works as
an abrasive and it erodes the paper underneath. i have better erasable pens so i
actually only need the ink eraser for mistakes i make on cheat sheets allowed
for exams for 0.3 mm pens. it erases small areas well so it is good for
precision. it does stop on the paper when my friends use it, but for me it works
fine. i guess i don't apply that much pressure. anyways, i do think it is a
better investment to purchase the sakura cordless electric eraser. it also has
refills for both pen and pencil. the pen eraser is a blue solvent eraser so
hopefully it won't ruin my paper. the sakura eraser is $50 though, so if you
want a cheaper one buy the denkeshi. this eraser is not completely tragic as it
does do what it is supposed to, the motor is just not as powerful considering it
is a mere $13.50.
