The brushes on the Holbein water pens are SO wonderful! Very soft and springy, way better than any other water brush I've tried. Unfortunately, when you squeeze for more water, it comes out the sides of the nib WAY too quickly! You have to be extremely careful not to squeeze hard at all, or you will have water everywhere! The pens hold a lot of water, but since so much comes out it kind of cancels that out. I still prefer the Kuretake water brushes, even though the bristles don't last very long.

I have tried Pentel (too wet), kuretake(too dry) and Holbein are just perfect in terms of water flow for my liking and are my go to waterbrush.

The threading of the cap is the opposite to all other brush or any other type pens, so yes they do come off but you need to twist the opposite direction.

The brush it's self wasn't so bad, when I got it to work at least. (sort of got it to work?) I don't know if I got a defective one, but my brush pen will not twist open in order to allow the chamber to fill. The only way I could get it is if I submerged the brush in water/ink/paint I was wokring with and squeezed in. But when I got it up and working, the strokes were nice, but it releases liquid way too fast. I don't think I'd purchase this product again.

Sometimes this pen works fine but there are moments when the pen may give out too much water without me squeezing it, I would have to recommend pentel's water-brushes if this is a problem for you too

Many of my friends use water brushes for sketching. I am still trying to get use to using it as I automatically want to dip my brush in water. I like how it fills and seems a fine example of these types of brushes.
