These lightly scented inks are encased in elegant semi-frosted bottles. They are perfect for fountain pens since they are naturally scented and do not contain pigments.

J. Herbin scented inks are made from floral water (hydrosols) of rose, orange, lavender, apple and violets. The hydrosols used by J. Herbin come from Grasse, France, a Provencal town long associated with the perfume industry and famous for its floral scents. Scented inks are inspired by a tradition that began in Italy in the 19th century. J. Herbin and other manufacturers used to collect different scents from the perfume industry and add them to their inks. These scented inks will leave a memorable impression to any writing piece.

This is such a lovely color, pinker than I expected, I just expected it to be redder based on the name. The scent is nice, like real roses. I look forward to writing letters with this ink so I can imagine the recipients opening the envelope to the scent of fresh roses!

Yes, it really does smell like actual roses. The only reason I didn't give it a full five stars is because I would have liked it to smell just a tad stronger. That's not a deal breaker though. It's such a nice smell just as it is, I will probably get more when I run out.

I LOVE these scented inks! It's such a unique and antique idea, and I think it's wonderful that you can find such a thing for sale today. I enjoy writing with the ink very much, even though my letter recipients say they can't really smell it. That's ok, they get the nicely colored ink at least, and I get the pleasant writing experience.

A rich, rosy red color. Deep rose. And the scent is JUST LIKE roses. I've never smelled a scented ink that smelled this good. As usual, J. Herbin does not disappoint. I guess with hundreds of years making ink, they've learned a thing or two. Fantastic ink.

I really like the way it writes on thicker nibs. The color is kind of muted but it's very a nice classic antique kind of muted that works well with the rose scent.

This ink doesn't flow well in both my Pilot Fine nibs, but works wonderfully in in my Loom/TWSBI Fine.

Not sure if this is a plus (I find this mixed) but I can never seem to get the rose scent out of my pens. I've changed ink twice on my Loom and I can still catch the faint scent of roses.
