Bought these inks for a quick and easy way to force myself to try colors other than black, blue and blue-black >_< ... as it so happens, these inks come in cutesy little bottles that close nice and tight, and happen to write rather nicely in the quick test with a Zebra G-Nib that I did. The colors are nice and bright/vibrant and the scents are spot on... or so my mother, who loves/grows flowers, confirmed since a flower is pretty much a flower to me. I can attest that the apple and the orange are nice and fruity. The colors seem to vary in their water resistance as well. I was particularly impressed that you could not only smell the scents while writing, but you could smell them from a foot or two away even about half an hour after drying on the page! I can imagine someone taking notes would freshen a classroom with this stuff. All in all this is a great deal if you can't seem to break into different colors, and don't want to commit to a larger vial of a single color. Of course they would also make a fantastic gift for anyone who is into scrap-booking or making greeting cards, etc. I only took a point away because the little ink bottles are not individually labeled, so just grab out some paper and write up labels for them as you test them out and tape the sniffable strips to the vials.

The scents are indeed very strong, but only while in the bottle. When used in a pen the color comes out very nicely, and they write smoothly, but the scent doesn't carry with it.

The other reviewer noted that these could be smelled from several feet away? Not in my case, even in the bottles.

They smell great, however, and the colors are interesting.

It may be worth noting that my set came opened with most of the colors having spilled all over suggesting that these had been opened at some point. Perhaps that's the reason for the lack of strong odor?

I purchased this set to use with my fountain pen collection and find that certain pens flow better with this ink then others. The scents are light but my favorite is the lavender blue the rest seem overly soft and ink colors are pale but pretty.

I recommend using Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen with this ink! Best Fountain pen & ink combination I have ever found.

These inks are very good in color (they aren't watery or light). My favorite is the rose-scented ink, it smells just like a rose! The smell is definitely stronger in the bottle, but isn't every scented item this way? I tested them all out using a glass pen, and the scents lingered for about a week. They obviously became less robust towards the end of the week, but they lasted better than I thought! They would be perfect to use to write a letter to someone. I feel confident that the scent would stay around long enough for the recipient to get a whiff!

The inks itself are nice, although they do stain the converter (judging by the Platinum converter). The scent, however, is too strong and, frankly, plain horrible. It reminded me strongly of cheap soap. It's also difficult to wash off the pen, it still smells like the violet ink after being thoroughly washed and filled with different ink. A real disappointment.

Love these! Very pretty, and the scent is delicate, at least to my nose. People's sense of smell varies, so some may find them strong while others won't smell them at all.

I would say the scents are stronger in the bottle, but definitely noticeable on paper as well.

I read a few reviews before buying this ink, and have to say I was pleasantly surprised! The scent is not over powering, its a powdery violet like parma violets. The colour is bright, vibrant purple, very striking! To my surprise, the scent does remain on the paper, perhaps not indefinitely, but for long enough to send a letter and have the reader enjoy the scent!

The ink comes in a lovely frosted bottle and smells very noticeably of violets. The scent actually lingers on the paper, which is surprising and very, very romantic. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's not quite as dark as I was hoping.

Beautiful ink with a lovely scent! What else can I say? So girly and nice! J. Harbin is a wonderful company and this ink is no exception!
