Enjoy hand blown glass pens in the tradition of 16th century Venice. Each pen is expertly made and is an individual work of art. The fine glass pens feature a frosted glass handle and tips that are delicately twisted in a light spiral to hold the maximum amount of ink. Each pen measures 5.5 inches long.

Glass pens are a romantic and beautiful writing instrument that will enhance your writing experience. They have a nice flow and are the only instrument that truly gives you an honest and direct experience with your ink. That is why glass pens are ideal for testing new ink colors. They write elegantly yet easily rinse clean with water, so you can quickly switch between different inks colors without having to refill a fountain pen. As long as you have a bottle of ink handy, these pens are ready to capture your thoughts anytime. When dipped, a glass pen can write multiple sentences before needing to be re-dipped.

How to use your glass pen:
1. Dip the pen slightly in an ink bottle. Tip should be only partially submerged to avoid ink blots.
2. Glide tip against bottle opening to drain excess ink. When ink no longer drips down from the nib it is ready to write with.
3. Use your glass pen to write notes, letters, wedding invitations, etc. (you may want to practice a bit first to get a feel for your pen). Re-dip in ink as necessary.

This is a little beauty! Easy to clean and perfect for testing out different inks. It would take some practice to get a good flow going to write with this pen solely but it cannot be beat for testing ink.

Love it and the customer service from Jetpens.

  It's a glass pen, but..., October 10, 2013

It's a glass pen, but nothing great. The design and function is pretty utilitarian. The point was scratchy, so I worked on it with some 1k-10k sandpaper. It's smoother now. The initial line tends to be really think and then moderates as one might expect. The choice of ink matters. Other reviews have spoken well of J. Herbin inks but I did not attain good results. J. Herbin's Bleu Myosotis is thin and tends to quickly run to the tip of the pen and drain quickly. I preferred Noodler's Blue. Being slightly thicker, it tended to remain higher in the grooves rather than flow to the tip. I also found that the pen needs to be held at a 45 degree angle to the paper to work well. As it's tilted more perpendicular, the line is starved of ink. A lower angle will release a thick stream of ink. VERDICT: The pen is great for ink tests. It can be used to write a decent line on the right paper. So, its handy if you want to write a short letter or journal entry in a color other than the one in your fountain pen.
