Enjoy hand blown glass pens in the tradition of 16th century Venice. Each pen is expertly made and is an individual work of art. The fine glass pens feature a striped glass handle and tips that are delicately twisted in a light spiral to hold the maximum amount of ink. Each pen measures 5.5 inches long.

Glass pens are a romantic and beautiful writing instrument that will enhance your writing experience. They have a nice flow and are the only instrument that truly gives you an honest and direct experience with your ink. That is why glass pens are ideal for testing new ink colors. They write elegantly yet easily rinse clean with water, so you can quickly switch between different inks colors without having to refill a fountain pen. As long as you have a bottle of ink handy, these pens are ready to capture your thoughts anytime. When dipped, a glass pen can write multiple sentences before needing to be re-dipped.

How to use your glass pen:
1. Dip the pen slightly in an ink bottle. Tip should be only partially submerged to avoid ink blots.
2. Glide tip against bottle opening to drain excess ink. When ink no longer drips down from the nib it is ready to write with.
3. Use your glass pen to write notes, letters, wedding invitations, etc. (you may want to practice a bit first to get a feel for your pen). Re-dip in ink as necessary.

This type of pens works amazing for ink testing, is not 100% accurate how it will look on your fountain pen but gives you a general idea of the color

bought this pen a while ago because i use fountain ink dip pens on occasion and wanted to see if this worked as well as advertised. and it does! its point tip isn't very versatile in that you can only write in a .6mm (estimate) nib. the ink flow is beautifully even and lasts a bit longer than a metal tip. great pen to have for fun, and from time to time i do use it in my work. also, great as a watercolor scraping tool, however using it as this will damage your tip.

The pen is thin, but heavy in a pleasing way. The tip is hit or miss: Either you'll get one that writes, or you will get one that is scratchy and fussy. I received one of the latter. My pen will only write when the tip is rotated to a certain spot on the tip. However, when it does write, it works very well. Moreover, if you're looking for an easy and convenient way to test out new fountain pen inks, this is a great tool.

I have used dip pens made in Germany before and loved them although I found them a bit too thick. I was excited to try a finer point dip pen and ordered this but have not found it to be very user friendly. It does not seem to be designed to hold enough ink to write fluently and has to be dipped too frequently to allow for continuity.

I just bought this pen and am already excited! I just got it in the mail today and it's even prettier in person than on the site. This pen is a gift for my brother because he likes to draw and do calligraphy but I wanna test it out myself. I think I'll resist and leave it til Christmas when we can all play with it! This is an amazing product and can't wait to see it in use. I just know he'll love it! Thanks JetPens!
