Sealing wax has been used throughout history for sealing documents and correspondence, as well as for bottling and decoration. For over 300 years, J. Herbin sealing waxes have been well-known as among the highest-quality sealing waxes available in the world. Their special lacquer formulas—gathered by M. Herbin during his many voyages to India—offered better adhesion and neatness than any other wax available in Paris at the time.

This supple sealing wax resists cracking or chipping under strain. It is suitable for use on letters sent through the mail, as long as the letters are hand-cancelled. The pack includes four 4 3/8" x 3/8" x 3/8" wax sticks, each of which can make seven average sized seals.

To use the wax, heat it with a lighter and drip wax onto the place you want the seal to be. Alternatively, you can cut off the amount of wax you want to use and melt it in a spoon. Once you have a small puddle of wax, press the seal into the wax puddle, hold it there for 5-10 seconds, then remove it. With practice, you will develop a sense of just how much wax to use and how long to hold the seal in place.
