Description
Includes one blue ink cartridge, which will be inside the pen barrel upon receipt.

This Kaweco Sport pen features an exclusive music print design that you will only find at JetPens! Featuring a white cap and grip, and black barrel, the plastic fountain pen has gold accents and displays the JetPens website along with the Kaweco Sport logo.

The sporty and compact look of these fountain pens transcend fashion time and are just as attractive today as they were when they were first created years ago. Each pen is compact when capped (approx. 4.1 inches long), but very comfortable when posted (5.3 inches long). Thus the Kaweco slogan "Small in the pocket, great in the hand".

Each pen features a screw-on cap for extra security and a 23 K gold plated nib made of stainless steel with an iridium tip. The German-made pens reveal a Kaweco metal logo on the top of the cap.

The video below shows how to install an ink cartridge in your Kaweco pen:

I have bought other Kaweko products and they have been acceptable. THIS pen, however, is acceptable as a give-away bonus item. And even then, it's kind of iffy. The musical notes depicted on all sides of the pen--for it has sides, not rounded--look cheesy. The nib is cheap and has no substance. I have stub or music nib fountain pens that are far superior. The pen itself is definitely not worth the price. It is not worth .23 cents.
I do not know the terms for return, but if I have to outlay more money to send it back, i will have to grit my teeth and do it. I do not want this pen in my collection. Let me put it this way, it is crap.

I bought this pen as a lark, primarily for the nib. It feels featherweight, not at all substantial--there is no gravitas to it at all. A child might like to own it, as a first fountain pen. But those of us who adore pens and acquire them for the aesthetics and quality of writing are in for a dismal surprise. I paid full price for this pen--and note that it is now on sale. Do not bother. If they gave it away, I would not want it. Worthless.

Bought this pen for my music teacher mother, and it is quite nice. The ink flows well, and the pen looks great. My only slight negative comment would be that it feels lighter and slightly "cheaper" than I expected from the pictures, but still worth the purchase!

My other pens are all incredibly valuable vintage Waterman and Parker, so I know what an exceptional pen feels like. However I was horrified by the toll that light everyday usage was taking on them, all the little bumps, drops, and scratches were adding up quickly. So when I saw this music print Kaweco Sport on sale, I thought I would take a chance.

This pen is a great everyday carry!! It is very very small, and I love that there is no clip. You just pop it in a pocket, and it disappears. Also it seems to weigh about as much as a staple, even with a full ink cartridge and the cap posted. And yet the construction is rock-solid, and the nib section seems strong enough to open a beer or two. I prefer to write with the cap posted because it becomes that familiar full size once the cap is on. But for extra fine detail unposted is equally comfortable, I'll probably use both equally since I actually got this to write and arrange music!

As for performance, again this Kaweco is great. I have yet to finish my first full cartridge, so I don't know how much it will eventually break in. But from the first stroke it writes very well. I got the FINE nib, which perhaps in German pens is much much finer than others, I'm not sure this is my first Kaweco. It is even finer than my Parker Arrow extra fine. So if you are looking for a wetter stroke, or perhaps a fast writer, get the Medium or even Broad. This pen is very very fine and needle-like, although I am hoping it will loosen up a little over time. I should mention here that I'm using Kaweco sepia ink, which seems to be a little on the thick side. So a wetter ink may make a big difference.

So, I'm not sure how much this one differs from the standard Kaweco Sport, if at all. But I do love this pen. And not to mention the beautiful music print and wonderfully engraved, bright gold nib, which gets me just as many compliments and conversations as a pen costing 15 times as much!

SUMMARY: solid A grade - I bought this for the cute looks and sale price, but I'm so thrilled with the feel and performance that my $200+ "dream pens" can go back in the box where they belong. Now I see why nobody seems to have just one of these little guys, I can't wait to collect more colors and nibs!

I own the Kaweco sport in the dark Burgundy color. I purchased it with the EF nib, which worked quite well but I chose to replace the nib with the 1.1mm stub, which I find I really like, because this is my personal preference. I find the sport style to be a reasonably smooth writer, does not dry out easily and is compact and easy to transport. I have more expensive and "serious" pens but enjoy the simple and somewhat playful feel of the Kaweco sport. I bought the Music Print Pen for my mucsic teacher daughter as I thought it would be a fun novelty. I was not expecting the music notes around the side of the pen to be "classy" but rather "fun" and I think that they are! It seems to be a very similar quality to the burgundy sport which I own and I was not disappointed.
