The sporty and compact look of these fountain pens transcend fashion time and are just as attractive today as they were when they were first created years ago. Each pen is made of high-quality, colorful plastic and is compact when capped (approx. 4.1 inches long), but very comfortable when posted (5.3 inches long). Thus the Kaweco slogan "Small in the pocket, great in the hand". Each pen features a screw-on cap for extra security and a 23 KT gold plated stainless steel nib with an iridium tip. The Germany-made pens reveal a Kaweco metal logo on the top of the cap. One free blue ink international short cartridge is included, more ink colors are available separately at JetPens. Included cartridge will be inside pen upon receipt.

I couldn't update my last review so adding another one. The half-stroke to start issue was definitely because I was just starting to use the pen. Perhaps washing before loading the very first cartridge may have helped...
Now it writes like a champ. 5 Stars!

This is my second Kaweco...
This is my second Kaweco Classic Sport so now I have a medium and a broad nib. It writes smooth both in terms of the nib as well as the ink flow.
I was a little surprised to find that this one needs a little more pressure than the medium nib. Also, it takes maybe half a stroke to get the ink going.
In my (limited) experience, the medium nib Kaweco is a shade better/smoother than the broad nib.

Some time this pen's ink flow is to wet and the ink leaks out and makes a mess on the paper. It is a smooth nib but I don't like the bold lines as much as I thought I would. I am ordering a fine nib because I think I will like it better.

I ordered this pen because...
I ordered this pen because many reviews said it was a good, smooth, everyday pen - and it is. The nib doesn't scratch and the ink flow is very good. Of course, I rinsed it thoroughly before inserting the cartridge. As many people know (as I did before purchasing), it only takes short international cartridges. I tried my mini Monteverde converter, but it was too narrow and didn't stay in place.
I ordered the broad nib because hoping that it would be close to my Retro 51 fountain pen, which I love, and it is very close (though not quite as bold as the Lamy Safari broad). It's a short pen and very light and comfortable to hold. Good for every day writing.
