April 23, 2012
I've had this fountain pen for about 4 months, and I just want to say that it is
great! Some details about the pen:
Length...
Cap on: 10.3 cm
Body excluding nib: 8.3 cm
Cap on the back and excluding nib: 11.5 cm
Overall, it's an acceptable length. Given my small hands, I can get away with
writing without putting the cap on the end every time, but those with larger
hands can still comfortably write with the cap on the end.
The ink flows very nicely, even on poor quality paper (as in thin, rough paper)
and I love the fact that I can see the ink through the clear body! Highly
recommend!

I love this model of pen! I got this clear body as my first from this line and
loved it so much that I got myself a second with the full black body. The small
size makes it perfect for small purses. I got the clip for the black model and
also enjoy having that option.

I love the smoothness of how these write. I really enjoy how they look, and love
it with the clip. They're really easy to tuck into my purse, and I've found that
they don't seem to leak ink into the cap even in that situation. I love that
they use the European standard cartridges as I have plenty to use, and the line
is super sharp and clear.

This is an amazingly good fountain pen, especially considering the price. It
writes very smoothly, and feels very comfortable. I use J. Herbin ink cartridges
with this pen, and they work perfectly.

I love this fountain pen!! It has excellent flow, even the paper quality is not
so good...
The ink make the writing seems fun too, the different shades it produce while
writing, is magnificent, is like water flowing into the paper. Love it! (I don't
get tire saying it)

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Black Body
This is my second Kaweco Sport. The first, which I purchased for college in the
60's, a piston filler with a gold nib,
was made of "destructible plastic." The plastic on the new one is much better.
The fine nib writes puts down a nice line is
is relatively smooth. If you buy the pen, watch the Jetpens video on installing
the first cartridge; it contains a useful
tip. I'm very happy I found the Jetpens site.

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - White Body
I absolutely LOVE this pen. I've tried many fountain pens in the past including
the Ohto Tasche and the Lamy Vista Extra Fine, but this has come out superior.
Ink flow is consistently smooth in almost every angle, which I didn't see with
my Lamy. Even with its small body, it sits comfortably for hours of writing. The
nib writes a little bigger than the EF Lamy, and smaller than the Tasche, but
the ink flows better, making all my inks looking rich and dark, even after
writing for a while.

A truly wonderful fountain pen. The Kaweco Sport Classic - at only four inches
long, capped - is a small and dainty pen that packs a punch. Although the size
may be an issue for some people, I\'ve noticed that it\'s comfortable posted or
unposted. The fine nib that runs true to size is smooth and buttery across
paper, even cheap copy paper. Not only that, but the pen seems able to take some
stress with a nice, even weight. Aesthetically, the pen is beautiful with a gold
logo on the top and body of the cap, and a matching gold nib. It\'s truly
beautiful, you can pick up many!

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Black Body
I bought this pen to carry when I'm riding my motorcycle. Keep it either in my
jacket pocket or pants pocket.
It always writes the first time, no matter if it has stayed in the jacket for
weeks. And, I've found that by replacing the cartridge by making it an
"eyedropper," just putting a little silicone grease on the barrel and filling
the barrel with ink...I carry the Bad Black Moccassin ink in it....waterproof,
that I have the perfect carry pen.
It's a known fact that when you go to sign the gas receipt at a service station,
or use the pen they give you at the Post Office, or Bank, that you are picking
up one of the most germ laden devices for spreading disease!
Therefore, you should ALWAYS carry your OWN pen.....and when the check comes at
a restaurant and they hand you a BIC, just pull out your Kaweco, and watch them
gaze in awe as if you pulled a rabbit out of a hat!

Soooooo smooooooooth! Now I know what "smooth" means. It lays down a lot of ink,
so it's not as fine as a Preppy or Tasche. On Rhodia paper, it's a dream.

I\'m speechless. I got the silkiest, smoothest fountain pen I have ever owned.
Its got a lovely fine tip and its outperformed my more expensive Waterman and
Lamy pens. And it folds up into its compact size that fits in a pocket or bag
with no issues.
I\'m a left-handed writer with a hook and the Kaweco pen glides, no matter what
angle I hold it. I\'ve always had to fight to find the sweet spot with other
fountain pens but not the Kaweco Sport Classic. Its a dream to use! Highly
recommend!

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Black Body
One of the best under $20 fountain pen purchase I have made from JetPens. The
size is small when closed and in the pocket. Make sure you purchase a clip if
you want it to settle in a bag or pocket so it will never reach the bottom on
it's own (total length closed with cap is just near 4.25"). The nib is smooth,
clean, no issues and writes a near 0.6 line. I currently use the Kaweco ink
cartridges which do not bleed and dry quickly (I am a lefty). This is a great
gift for a non-fountain pen user as well as a good purchase for a pen lover. My
next purchase is the metallic model at the $70 range, knowing what to expect the
larger price range is less of a gamble.

I love jetpens mostly for the drafting pencils and boxy erasers, but I fell hard
for this fountain pen and got one, lost it, and got another because I couldn't
deal with the loss.
Is good. I use it for red pen. What fun!

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Black Body
A pretty good user pen for the $, I got it with the clip as well. It writes a
pretty true fine line maybe even a little closer to a extra fine than medium. I
did have to tweek the nib a bit to align the tines, they seemed a bit out of
place. Once they were aligned it is a pretty smooth with some pleasant feedback.
The flow is dry, but I have only tried it with a cartridge of anonymous ink, I
think it would work better with one of my PR inks. Its pretty tough too, the
plastic has already survived a 3 foot fall, plus the threading kept the cap
pretty secure so no complaints there. All in all a pretty good notes pen.

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Extra Fine Nib - Blue Body
This is a good fountain pen, although it appeared larger to me in the photos.
It's actually quite compact, although I don't think it's too small. The EF
Kawecos write slightly broader than EF Lamys, in my opinion, but the Kaweco
feels smoother. I would have given this a 5 if the dimensions were a bit
larger. The pen itself looks great in person. If I could buy this again I
think I would get the fine or medium nib, as there's nothing special about this
EF nib.

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Medium Nib - Clear Body
I am always stunned at the stupidity of people. If everyone raves about how well
a pen writes including the N.Y Times and yours does not write like that then you
obviously have a problem with your pen specifically. Really some people need to
use their brain. What are you doing with an ink pen anyway if you can not think
creatively? Put down the pen because you might hurt someone and take your dunce
cap, sit in the corner until you are ready to re-enter the world.
The Kaweco Sport is a great pen, nothing to fantastic but definitely reliable
and compact. Between me and my family I would say there are 14 of these pens
around and everyone writes without skipping. If they go a few days with out use
they do need a good shake before writing or they won\'t start right up. If you
want to convert this pen to an eyedropper fill go to the link below for easy
visual instructions. Don\'t worry Jetpens their prices are higher than yours for
this pen. But I do have to say Jetpens told me no one else in America can sell
this pen but I guess that was not the truth.

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Blue Body
This is my favorite fountain pen for daily use. I have lots of Lamy Safari's, a
bunch of vintage flex nibs, some Parkers, some Sheaffers and some little-known
off-brands too.
I just love this pen. From the weight, to the color, to the size to the nib. I
just truly adore it.
I am trying to order several more but JetPens is constantly sold out so that
must mean others love this pen too!

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Medium Nib - Black Body
This is a great pen. I received it yesterday and took it straight to work today
- 2.5 hours of copious note taking and not one skip or splat. Really, really
happy with it - and it was extremely comfortable! I've got huge hands, and
despite it's tiny size - it fit wonderfully (excellent grip area). The screw cap
is nice, though a bit squeaky. PLEASE STOCK MORE PENS FROM KAWECO!

June 18, 2012
This review is from
Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Extra Fine Nib - Black Body
Yep, the Kaweco Sport (EF nib) is a winner, as far as I'm concerned, and I'll be
buying another in a different colour. I initially had two trepidations: a) There
DOESN'T seem to be a converter available for the Kaweco Sport, so you must use
Kaweco's own (or other "International Short") ink cartridges (no bottled ink)
and b) my usual concerns about what a particular manufacturer considers "Extra
Fine" compared to "Fine." OK, I heard that others have made an "eyedropper" out
of the Kaweco by "greasing up" the threads with silicone grease so you can fill
the BARREL with ink. I'm perfectly happy using J. Herbin cartridges--"Perle
Noire" for black and "Eclat de Saphir" for blue. Coupla my favorite "bottle"
inks that happen to also be available in short cartridges. My problem with nib
widths is a common one: that what one manufacturer calls "extra fine" is closer
to "fine" (or even "medium"). The EF nib that came with my Kaweco *IS* an
extra-fine. It writes smoothly (*not* dry, at least not with J. Herbin ink),
first time, every time. No skipping, no scratchiness. I did NO "preparation" of
the new pen. Snap in the cartridge, give it a couple of shakes, and start
writing.
I bought mine with a pocket clip (another $3), but this puppy is SO short,
you'll be tempted to just carry it in your pants pocket. The cap SCREWS ON, so
there's no danger of it coming off if you just throw this little guy into your
backpack or pocket. It's comfy writing without the cap posted, but WITH the cap
posted (so you won't misplace it), it's still shorter than your average FP.
Terrific pen, worth every bit of the price. Definitely want another.

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Extra Fine Nib - Blue Body
This is a terrific little pen for students and people who want a fountain pen
they can take with them. Because this little Sport is the plastic model, I am a
bit hesitant to carry it around in my jeans pocket or let it rattle around in
the bottom of a book bag. However, I find the EF nib to be very smooth and has
just the right flow of ink for all sorts of paper--even cheap American binder
paper. It even writes nicely on tracing paper without scratching. I use fountain
pens because I have arthritis, and writing with this light little Sport is
effortlessly smooth. Once the cap is properly posted, it feels substantially
long enough with a good girth, but not heavy like the very expensive pens. The
octagonal shape keeps it from rolling off the desk whether the cap is on or
posted.
If I had to mention any drawbacks, I would have to say that first, the barrel
only has room for the cartridge you are using. Many other pens have room for a
cartridge and a spare, so if you are planning to write all day, you have to
carry a spare. Not a big deal, because the cartridges last a long time. My
second comment is that the cap takes more than a few turns to screw on and off.
So it makes the Sport less like a jotting pen. But once you have the cap posted,
you can write for page after page with no effort. I have written four or five
pages at a sitting and felt no cramping or pain in my hand. This makes it ideal
for taking notes at a lecture or for when the Muses strike.
One last comment--I love the deep blue color with the bright gold accent of the
nib and on the cap.

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Medium Nib - Black Body
Fantastic little pen, often overshadowed by the Lamy Safari. I actually prefer
this pen to the Lamy because of the smoothness of the tip. Using international
carts may be a turnoff for some but I actually prefer them because I can keep
several in my pen bag ready to go for periods of sustained writing. Also, this
pen is cheap enough to easily replace with little to no guilt. ^_^
Overall, absolutely bomber pen. Just keep in mind that the plastic likes
fingerprints!

This is the smoothest writing fountain pen I have ever used. It is lightweight
and stores very small. The screw on cap makes it safe to carry in my pocket,
which is a good thing because I plan to make it my main pen. Now I can throw my

Kaweco Classic Sport Fountain Pen - Medium Nib - Clear Body
the kaweco "Sport Classic" line of pens is just too awesome for words. super
compact and real smooth writing you can ask for anything more.
one thing i'm iffy about is the eyedropper conversion.. even with silicon, the
pressure inside the barrel still pushes a considerable amount of ink to make a
mess inside the cap and around the nib.
other than that, a fantastic pen!
