This is a nice, smooth-flowing blue-black. It's more blue than black, but with a bit of vintage tone. Of course, the cartridge works well in my Kaweco Sport, but be patient since it can take several minutes for flow to begin. However, that's normal for many cartridge-type fountain pens. If you desire a darker blue-black with more black than blue, in an international short-sized cartridge, try Pelikan blue-black.

Blue black is my favorite ink color overall. It's a good all-purpose color but distinguished. This version flows well, and is smooth, but it's a tad lighter than I like. Still, I'll buy it again, because it doesn't appear that I can get my favorite blue-black in a cartridge: Pelikan. I also really wish the Kaweco inks were available in a large capacity size, but I understand why since their pens are shorter and take the international size cartridges.

Love my Kaweco pen but not really loving this ink. Too blue and not saturated enough to make me happy. I like blue ink; I like black ink: thought I would like blue-black ink, but not so much.
Everything I have written with this looks sort of old, faded, and not so easy to read. Just no "life" to this color.

Perfect deep blue, far more sophisticated than the standard blue with its memory of school fountain pens.

This is my everyday ink. Dark enough for legal and medical documents and flows nicely. This and the Liliput pen fine nib by Kaweco have replaced my Namiki everyday fountain pen.

Too washed out for my tastes. It also didn't feed well in my pen, but it's new too so I'm not sure that's the ink's fault.

The color of the box is awesome, and I thought I'd be getting a "faded denim" color. Unfortunately, every pen I've tried this ink with just lays down a medium-gray line. It is just barely dark enough for regular daily usage, and the only time I've managed to get the ink to appear blue is when I've taken out the cartridge, squeezed it onto a dip pen, and written with it. It's not an actual usage of the cartridge - I just wanted to make sure it really was blue because when I just squeeze the cartridge onto the paper it results in a dark gray, almost black dot.

That being said, the Kaweco cartridges inserted inthe Kaweco Sport pens (I have F and EF) write well and comfortably, even if the other color I've used (purple) has also ended up looking gray and black.

The ink is much lighter than I expected - really does look like an aged, vintage blue (like, the writing is many years old and has been in the sun). I find this is sometimes nice because I can write over for more emphasis, if I'm taking notes and want to highlight a heading. However, for me it is too low contrast on things like manila envelopes. It took a while to start flowing, so much that I ended up cleaning out my pen since I thought something was wrong. I know now it can just take that long (though it is good to clean out your fountain pen!). I will continue using the cartridges sice I paid for them and it feels wasteful to throw them out, and I will look for a darker blue next time.
