Hmm, I wouldn't call..., October 3, 2011
This review is from Kaweco Fountain Pen Ink Cartridge - Aubergine Purple - Pack of 6
Hmm, I wouldn't call this a light purple....you know how blue-black ink is
like...black ink with undertones of blue? This is like black-purple ink...purple
with undertones of black. Very faint black, but nonetheless it's there.
I think the color of the cartridge box is a pretty accurate measure of the ink
itself when it dries. It's a bit richer when you first write with it.
Still, I agree with the "neutral" hue statement. Definitely not overly flashy or
shiny. It's a muted purple, calming and perhaps even a bit dry, but that's where
its strength lies: in its sensible, straightforward coloring.
I use it for notes and doodles and everything in between, and like how it blends
in with my black and blue inks without standing out. Plus, every time someone
asks me about the color, I get to tell them a cool name.
"No, this isn't purple ink...it's -aubergine- purple ink!"
Never mind that I'm probably mispronouncing aubergine and that the ink comes
from a cheap-looking international cartridge. The point is that it looks
flawlessly elegant and dignified on paper.
And the packaging is cute too. Just look at all the pretty flourishes on the
side!
This is why I love Kaweco so much.

This is a nice, smooth-flowing..., January 28, 2011
This review is from Kaweco Fountain Pen Ink Cartridge - Blue Black - Pack of 6
This is a nice, smooth-flowing blue-black. It's more blue than black, but with a
bit of vintage tone. Of course, the cartridge works well in my Kaweco Sport, but
be patient since it can take several minutes for flow to begin. However, that's
normal for many cartridge-type fountain pens. If you desire a darker blue-black
with more black than blue, in an international short-sized cartridge, try
Pelikan blue-black.

I have read that this..., October 20, 2012
This review is from Kaweco Fountain Pen Ink Cartridge - Green - Pack of 6
I have read that this ink is similar, if not the same, as Caran d'Ache's Amazon
ink. To me, this Kaweco ink is both in appearance and behavior as described from
those that reviewed the Caran d'Ache ink. With an estimated 4.5 ml per box it
would take 7 boxes to equal 30ml of the Caran d'Ache ink. I think the Kaweco
brand ink is a better value.
Now for my experience with this ink... The color to me is fabulous. More dark
than light, it exhibits some shading with my medium nib with the flow being
medium. Though not unusual, with light paper you will see minimal bleed-through.
I see little or no feathering from my writing paper. A very good ink.
If one can confirm this ink being the same as Caran d'Ache Amazon it would be
appreciated.

Really like this shade..., October 13, 2011
This review is from Kaweco Fountain Pen Ink Cartridge - Aubergine Purple - Pack of 6
Really like this shade of purple, which does have a hint of black. Aubergine is
an appropriate name for it. I just wish it were available in a large capacity
size like the Pelikan "long" cartridges. Smooth going down, and a good
signature color.
