This is a very good pen...,
May 19, 2012
This is a very good pen for its price but there are better.
The pen is compact but once you post it, its average length. Very comfortable to
write with. Its also very light and the color is pleasing to the eyes.
Extra fine nib writes great if you write at the right angle. If you deviate just
a bit, it'll skip the first letter but go right back to writing smoothly. My
Lamy fountain pens doesn't do that at all. (By angle, I mean something like 10
degree difference)
Other than that first letter skip at wrong angle, I've had no problem with
leaking, skipping or flow issues. It is a great pen and problem is minuscule but
I would probably stick to Lamy or keep trying different ones.
It takes international short cartridge so huge plus there. I get to use my J.
Herbin cartridges!
Oh and for those of you used to Japanese tiny nibs, this writes more like a fine
nib than extra fine.

Kaweco Ice Sport Fountain Pen - Medium Nib - Orange Body
Smooth nib, unique styling, light and compact in the pocket. The Kaweco sport
ice fountain pen wrote smoothly and cleanly right out of the box. I didn't even
rinse the feed, as is my normal practice before filling a new pen, and it puts
down a nice inky line with no hesitation. The M nib is a bit finer than western
nibs, but not quite as fine as asian.

gorgeous color, great design, and writes well...now only if I could find a

Kaweco Ice Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Pink Body
I *love* this pen! It's never scratchy, has great ink flow, and is a
delightfully bright color of pink. It took me a little while to get used to how
short it is when posted, but the compact size makes it so much easier to stash
in a pocket (I keep mine in the little MP3 player pocket on my backpack for
quick and easy access). The pen writes to a standard that I've come to expect
from much more expensive pens, and yet I don't have to worry if it accidentally
walks off with one of my students, because it's so affordable, though I
certainly will be keeping a close eye on it, as it's now my favorite writing
utensil. I will be buying more in a variety of different colors so I can keep
one at home, one at work, one in my purse, and one in my backpack at all times.

Kaweco Ice Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Green Body
This is the most wonderful fountain pen! For less than $25, this pen writes like
it must have cost over $100--seriously. The ink flows consistently at just the
right amount. The nib is smooth and never scratches or catches the paper; it\'s
a smooth ride from start to finish. Although the pen section is short, once you
put the cap on the opposite end and start writing, it turns into an overall
length that is comfortable in any hand. The quality is outstanding--a very
well-made pen. I certainly thought I\'d have to pay a lot more to get a pen that
writes as well as this one. I wish it came with the pen clip, but I\'m not
complaining considering the quality you get for the $. You\'ll be very pleased
with this pen.

Kaweco Ice Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Blue Body
Nice little pen! The translucent blue plastic looks great, and the fine nib
might be even smoother than the Pelikan Pelikano I just bought. I prefer the
balance on the Pelikano, but the Kaweco cap screws on when unposted, which means
you can shove the (ridiculously compact) thing in your pocket without worrying
about ink stains.

This pen is SMALL ......,

This review is from
Kaweco Ice Sport Fountain Pen - Extra Fine Nib - Red Body
This pen is SMALL ... if any fountain pen newbies have a Pilot Petit, this pen
is about the same size but thinner, they're both around the length of an iphone.
At first, I was like THIS IS NOT WORTH TWENTY SIX DOLLARS, but after cleaning it
up and converting it into an eyedropper, I was proven wrong. If you are really
serious about getting an everyday durable fountain pen this may just be your
best option (I myself am a student.) It has such a smooth nib and is so visually
appealing I can't stop writing or looking at it. For those who don't want to
spend the extra 3 dollars on extra fine, DON'T .... because EF is still a pretty
average 0.5 lead thickness.
For those anal people who like clean nibs... I don't know if it's me, but the
ink flow is so smooth I can't seem to wipe the small ink blot on the tip quickly
enough to fully uncover the shiny silver HAHA!

Kaweco Ice Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Orange Body
I am lefthanded and this pen works great! With the cap screwed on, it is the
perfect size to fit in a purse or pocket, and the long cap protects the body of
the pen from getting crushed accidentally. Posted, it is a normal size. This pen
is a performer that puts down a nice wet line. It writes like a more expensive
model, although the tip is a little scratchy (it might also be the cheap office
paper I use it on). The plastic does feel a little cheap and light for what it
cost, considering that the clear model is $6 less for what looks like the same
thing. Basically you are paying more to make a fashion statement.
Like some other people mentioned, the 'orange' is more of a pinkish fluorescent
orange, the kind of orange that glows under a black light or in the sun. I like
that, but other people may not.
I bought it because I am getting quite a stash of international short carts and
wanted something a little less expensive to put them in. There is no converter
available for this pen, so it's good for someone who doesn't want to bother with
bottle filling or has a lot of carts laying around.
Overall I am extremely happy with this pen and recommended it to others,
especially people who are intimidated by higher end 'serious' looking pens. This
would be a good starter pen for someone who is new to fountain pens.

Kaweco Ice Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Orange Body
Finer nib then my Lamy Safari, fairly similar in feel, maybe even a little less
scratchy then the safari, but that could just be because it is new. Its a decent
bit lighter then the safari as well. Its a little more of a highlighter orange
then in the pics, maybe almost a bit pink. Had I known this I probably would
have gotten the red or the green one. oh well. After this purchase, I have
decided sometime I will get the Aluminum version of this pen

Kaweco Ice Sport Fountain Pen - Extra Fine Nib - Blue Body
I had to return the pen because it kept skipping. JetPens sent me a shipping
invoice for my return, so I'm glad I didn't have to pay for shipping.
Unfortunately, the pen is still skipping, even though the customer service agent
thought otherwise. I'm going to return this for good.
It's a pity, because it seems like a novel pen: small, and in great colours.
This experience has completely turned me off Kaweco pens.

I am fond of orange, and this exceeded my expectations by being an almost
mercurochrome brilliant clear orange. I love this pen. Plus it writes great on
any paper I have tried. Kaweco inks are a little faint for my taste, but the
pen accepts any standard short cartridge.

This pen is not exactly the most attractive thing.... but it writes well and
fits the small standard cartridges which is nice. I don't think it's quite worth
the price, but thats just because im not that fond of the clear plastic.

Kaweco Ice Sport Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Orange Body
I am relatively new to the fountain pen sub culture. If you are a beginner as
well this review should be helpful. I have only used 4 different Lamy Safaris 2
all star and 2 regular, 1 Lamy Studio, 1 Pilot Prera, and now this pen. I can
not quite get what the hype over the Lamy pens seems to be about. I like writing
with them but my experience has proved they do not write that well on smooth
paper (Rhodia), and the ink shows through on Moleskine paper but does write
better than the former. I love the way the pilot pen writes, unfortunately for
me it is hard to hold onto. My hand must sweat a little and the grip is so
smooth and such a small area it is uncomfortable. But again that is my hand and
the pen writes awesome
This pen however, is awesome on both of the above mentioned paper, writes
totally smooth, no skipping, and feels great in hand. I am thrilled to be
honest. It makes me really happy to write with this pen and I can now embrace
this fountain pen love I have been wanting to. Best part of all, this pen is
down right CHEAP.
I didn't mention nib size so I will finish with all of the pens I mentioned were
fine nibs other than 1 medium Safari. I don't have much to say about that other
than I like the fine nibs on all of them better than the medium.
Finally, buy this pen!
