I love this pen. I love the compactness of it and the design is beautiful. Even the graphics are a great design feature. The only negative thing I can say about this pen is that I wish the fine nib were as fine as my Kaweco AL Sport fountain pen. I don't know why there is a difference in the two nib ink widths when I write. The nib on both of my pens are clearly labeled with an "F". Maybe I will have to purchase the black color Liliput just to see if I get a finer nib :) Jetpens owns me! I am glad they are a source for the Kaweco's. I think both Jetpens and Kaweco are fair in the pricing of these pens.

I have a lot of fountain pens, all of them with unique characteristics setting them apart. This Kaweco Liliput I like better than my Kaweco sport due to its small size. When closed it easily fits into your pants or shirt pocket without notice (as it doesn't have a clip). It has a sturdy design as the cap secures to the base with a screw function that is solid with no wobbling. It is about as thin as a pencil so users with large hands may not like the width. The fine tip is more of a 0.8 line than an expected 0.5 width I prefer. I was hoping to use a Ohto Fountain Pen Converter but the base area for the ink cartridge is too small to hold it. The price may seem high but the quality, compact size and craftsmanship justifies the higher price. I would give it 5 stars if the line was thinner and a inkwell converter were available. A good purchase nonetheless.

Excellent pen. The small size does not contribute to fatigue as I expected. Fits comfortably in my hand for extended note sessions. Using Kaweco or even Private Reserve cartridges, the cap can be off for over a minute before the flow skips on startup. The nib stays remarkably clean -- no ink anywhere. I am used to my sloppy Lamy Safari, which gets ink all over the grip and nib and requires weekly cleaning.

I love keeping it in my pants pocket since I do not always have a shirt pocket for longer pens with clips. Now I just carry it everywhere.

The fine nib leaves a broader line than I hoped, but not bad enough to take off a star.

I love this pen. Like all the other Kawecos, it's a smooth, wet writer. It starts right up every time, and its small size makes it the ideal go-anywhere pen. It has a very classy, well-made feel to it. I love the sleek silver. Mine is a Fine nib. I do a lot of sketching with it as well as writing, and it has no trouble keeping up with me. I've done a review on my blog post with photos at this link: http://hudsonvalleysketches.blogspot.com/2012/05/willow-tree-in-front-yard-and- lilliput.html

I took a chance on this pen based on it's limited reviews. So far I LOVE this pen. In the past I bought a fine nib fountain pen, and even capped it would take some "work" to get flowing again once I started using it (if I didn't use it every day for example). This pen, even at an *Extra* Fine Nib, always flows smoothly. No scratching or skipping. No 'work' to get it flowing, unless you left it uncapped for an hour without using it, then you may need to scribble a bit to get it working.

My handwriting looks better using this pen (smile). It is very small, so keep that in mind when you're considering this purchase... and it's very light - which I like because I find my hand fatigues quicker holding heavier pens. You do have to screw the cap to the end in order to use, which can be time consuming... so not my go to pen for a quick jot when the phone rings. However, keeping it uncapped and poised in a meeting works wonderfully.

I also ordered the Purple ink (which I will likely also review separately) and it's the ideal shade. It has black undertones and is simple, understated, yet different. Not "girly highschool note" different, just distinguished.

Overall, it's a great pen and I'm very happy with this purchase!

Cute as a bugs ear...and it has a beautiful Bock nib that performs very well. A very light fountain pen, nice finish, machining. Clean the pen with a dilute solution of ammonia or Dawn liquid detergent and water, rinse well(gets rid of manufacturing oil). Pat dry. Make sure your feed is lined up with the nib. Load a Kaweco or Herbin cartridge, tap the nib gently on your paper to get the ink flowing. Enjoy. Oh and the cap posts perfectly allowing a lot more length to the pen.

Great little fountain pen!

Excellent pen, with a wonderful nib.
I had to flush the nib to get proper ink flow, but from then on in it has been great. It lays down a consistent line, with a width comparable to a standard ballpoint pen.

Have now used this pen (silver finish) and three nibs (F, M, B) for about a year. I'm a 6'2" 200 lb guy and this pen is extremely comfortable in my large hand. Of all my fountain pens (Sheaffer, Safarfi, Al-Star, Kaweco), this is clearly a favorite. Most used nibs are F and M but like to work with all three. Masterpiece in design, construction, reliability and durability. The medal threads mesh smooth as butter. Capped, the pen is like holding a Cross ballpoint...about same length, same thickness, just about tenth the weight; also about same size/wt as Fisher bullet pen. Was skeptical before purchase but the more I use it the more I appreciate the genius behind it. Even the nibs are about easiest and most durable I've ever experienced. The small cartridges are just right size and sturdy enough to refill and use for other inks/colors. All pen colors are very appealing and ten-star service from folks at JetPens is unbeatable. Add one or two of these guys to your arsenal...you won't regret it.

The Kaweco Liliput is only 8.3 grams empty and 9.6 grams with ink, it weighs less than four pennies, and about the same as a Pilot Petit1 inked. A thin pen, the section comes in at 8mm and at the widest at 10mm, that being the cap. It has a fairly thin aluminum body, roughly 2x the thickness of a soda can wall, but has proven to be very sturdy. Using Namiki black ink, the extra fine nib is very smooth, as close to buttery smooth as you can get on an extra fine nib. Line width is in the range of 0.5mm. Altogether it is and very well made pen. Side note, the pen does not come with an ink cartridge.

Had this pen for quite a while now and I love it. Its form factor allows it to be transported in a pocket while taking up next to no space. A word of warning, you need to flush the nib before you write with this pen. I was too eager to use it and did not, and the ink just wont flow properly until you do. After that, the writing was smooth without any skips, the line was consistent and thin (you can have a small amount of width variance if you push into it).

Overall very good pen, a great purchase.

I just receive my liliput. And was a big surprise when I open the box. This pen is gracefully small. You can“t realize from the picture how tiny is this pen. It is a realy pleasure to write with it. It fits comfortably in your hand and the nib quality is amazing. The service of Jetpens is excelente. Thanks a lot Jetpens.

Love. Love. Love. I carry this pen with me everywhere. It tucks nicely into a pocket or in the groove of a notepad. The tip does not have a huge amount of flex but I can create minimal thick and thin lines. The lid screws into the top of the pen and becomes a standard sized pen. It's comfortable and the black matte aluminum finish is sleek.

This pen just arrived today, and it's wonderful! It's smaller than I expected (about the diameter of a Space Pen, and a little longer), but that's actually ideal for me. The nib is very fine and very smooth. I like that the cap screws on very securely. This one will definitely become a daily user! I only wish I could get a converter for it.

This review is from Kaweco Liliput Al Fountain Pen - Extra Fine Nib - Silver Body
I hate to give this pen a bad review, but I'm really pretty disappointed in it. The pen writes well, no complaints there. It is tiny and carries well. My main complaint is that it is a pain to use. It's way to short to write with without posting. However, you have to both unscrew the cap to get it of and screw it back on to the body (awkwardly) to write. This makes it a pretty poor tool for quick notes (mostly what I want for a pen in my pocket). I wish that I had plunked down the extra cash and gone with the sportAL. As it stands, I find myself more inclined to use my Sport more than this.
