I would give this a 4...

I would give this a 4 1/2 star rating if it let me! I love the Kaweco Liliput series of fountain pens, and have one of each (black, silver, and brass).Their small capped size, and slender diameter make them a perfect travel pen, just stick it in a pants pocket and go. The screw cap design takes the worry out of the cap coming off in your pocket, or the pen leaking. In fact, I have yet to have one leak, even inside the cap. The smooth clipless barrel prevents the pen from snagging the pocket material, of scratching other objects in your pocket. (I typically carry a vintage or antique, mechanical alarm pocketwatch and if the trousers don't have a fifth pocket, I can put the liliput in the same pocket without worry.) I would give this pen five stars, if not for the stainless steel nib, which I find a little stiff, and the ink sometimes doesn't flow quite as smooth as I like (possibly due to the dry climate where I live). However, Kaweco does make a gold (plated) replacement nib, which flows and write very smooth and without interruption, making this a truly five star pen.
SPECIAL NOTE: The brass Liliput does have some weight to it compared to the black and silver versions. Some people don't care for the extra weight when writing for a long time. I, however like the "heft" that it has, as it makes the pen feel very sturdy. As a result the brass Liliput is my #1 travel and everyday carry pen!
