Holy goodness. This lead...

Holy goodness. This lead opened my eyes. For years I'd been using the, um,
garbage Mead brand 0.5mm and 0.7mm pencils, and I went thought led like it was
my job. I press down very firmly on the paper, and it was not conducive to a
piece of lead lasting more than a few days, if that. And to write less hard
meant a less dark line, so it was harder to read. And worst, it was scratchy!
Like, it chipped, wore unevenly, and literally scratched the paper. When I was
blind, I knew no better, so it was irrelevant.
And then this lead came into my life.
I wouldn't say "life-changing," but it has really altered the way I take notes.
It never breaks. Ever. Like, I've gone through maybe half a package of this in
the first seven weeks of classes, and that's a lot of writing. Multiple small
30-page notebooks worth. And not one broken, chipped, or scratchy lead yet. Even
with this package bouncing around in my bag (and a single lead in my pencil),
nothing has broken yet. Ridiculous.
Writing with this is a beautiful experience. It seems to melt over the page,
like solder when it gets heated, easily flowing like a nice pen. Marvelous lead,
super smooth. And the lines are dark and non-metallic, like someone else
mentioned. Very readable (if anyone could read my handwriting, that is). Even in
direct sunlight, it's still there, matte as ever.
I would give this six stars if I could. Maybe seven. I'm about halfway through
the semester, so we'll see if I even need another before the turn of the
