DescriptionSpecificationsQuestions & Answers
Named after the Japanese term for a regular wooden pencil, Enpitsu mechanical pencils combine the simple elegance of a wooden pencil with the convenience of a mechanical pencil. Its versatile 0.7 mm lead is thick enough to write smoothly and resist breakage while still being fine enough for detailed notes and illustrations. Its tip is retractable, minimizing the chance for accidental pokes while the pencil is not in use, and its hexagonal body keeps it from rolling away. In addition, instead of a cap that could get lost, the pencil has a top that does not come off, and lead can be inserted through it without removing any parts.

A nice, no-frills pencil....

A nice, no-frills pencil. I bought this primarily for the beautiful color, since I wanted to fill it with Soft Blue Pilot Color Eno Neox lead. In person it is a deep transparent teal color. It is extremely lightweight, but I don't know if it would be comfortable to use for extended periods of time since the body is hard plastic with no grip or cushion. Really does feel like a traditional wooden pencil in the hand. There is no eraser or cap on the end, you insert the lead directly through a hole. I had a little trouble feeding the lead in completely, so I used an extra piece to push it completely through the hole. Not a big inconvenience and it makes me confident that the lead won't accidentally slip out. All in all, it is a charming pencil and very pretty!
