This pencil is named "Enpitsu", the Japanese term for a non-mechanical wooden pencil, due to the thick lead. Available lead sizes are 0.9 mm and 1.3 mm, and they provide the versatility of a wooden pencil, allowing you to do anything from writing memos to illustrating. The soft elastomer body provides a comfortable grip. Safety features include a retractable tip that minimizes accidental pokes while the pencil is not in use. In addition, instead of a cap that could get lost, the pencil has a top that does not come off, and lead can be inserted through it without removing any parts.

Dimensions: 5.5 inches length, 0.4 inches diameter (14 cm length, 1 cm diameter).

I love this pencil. Have bought 10 and gave them away to friends and family. I love that it is 0.9mm which is just right. The grip is comfortably springy from the rubber body and the length is perfect for my small hands.

I bought this pencil for my 10 years old son. He loves it, but, at the end, my high school boy took it away. Very good quality (made in Japan) with an individual KOKUYO package. I will definitely buy more.

Light and easy to hold with its triangular body. The rubber like coating makes it easy to grip, but it does pick up a little lint here and there. It writes quite smoothly and glides over most paper surfaces with ease. I only saw B and 2B Campus lead refills for this but is safe to assume its in the soft category and not an HB or H. Overall a good pencil to have around for any use but not having a clip makes it less pocketable.

There is one major flaw in this pencil: when it's being used, the 0.9 lead often slips back into it. This is not just a problem for when I used it, but also when others tried to use the pencil. And this is very frustrating, especially considering that this pencil even says 0.9 mm (lead) on it. Maybe I just happened to get a defective item.

Other than that, it is a pretty nice pencil. It feels good in the hand, it has a rounded-triangular prism-like shape that prevents it from rolling off of tables too easily.

Love this pencil and the lead it came with, does anybody know what hardness it is?
