The pages in this notebook are printed with a subtle light blue 5 mm grid, with the grid lines alternating between dotted and solid. This is particularly useful for those practicing their Japanese (kanji) and Chinese writing.

The notebook is eco-friendly! Withered "yoshi" reed plants are harvested from the banks of Japan's Lake Biwa and Yodo River, then turned into the pulp that becomes the notebook paper. Harvesting the withered plants keeps them from rotting and polluting the waters, thus maintaining healthy plant growth. Healthy yoshi is a home for birds and fish, and helps keep the air and water clean by absorbing excess elements.

Dimensions: 7.0 x 9.9 inches (17.9 x 25.2 cm).

These notebooks are actually pretty good quality! The thing about them is, you'll want to practice with pencil, because the pages are a little on the thin side. And that might cause smudging, but as they are for practice, that's really nothing to worry about.
