As others have commented, this is is a wonderful pen for sketching. The ink is a light neutral grey, perfect for adding tones shadows to line drawings. It doesn't bleed through the page. You can also create darker greys by layering more strokes on the paper. The brush nib is fairly broad, but you can get thin lines by holding the pen vertical and using a light touch.

Combined all of these reviews list all of the good points but none of them include one important point for artists. The gray is a WARM gray excellent for comps, renderings and storyboards.

This is one of my new favorites. Goes on easy and even. Smooth ink flow. Definitely recommend it for adding a little depth.

A lovely subtle gray brush pen with a firm felt tip that is a good mix between a marker and an actual brush. On paper, it looks particularly lovely when paired with the light gray Hi-Tec-C gel pen.

Subtle ink I love to use for sketching and shading in storyboards. It's a very light shade and doesn't bleed.

I love this marker~ The brush tip lasts for a long time its not too firm, but not "too bendy". Its very sterdy to be precise. The color is very light and you can layer it as many times to get from the light gray spectrum to the ash gray.I use this marker for my manga drawings and its great!Altho you might wanna be careful when u mix this color with a crayola marker or any kind of marker because it will streak onto the gray.

GOOD: flexible yet durable tip | long-lasting | perfect barrel size | secure cap with slight edge to prevent rolling
BAD: NONE (worth mentioning this is water-based ink: will show overlaps but doesn't bleed thru paper and no odor)
UGLY: NONE, unless you abhor glitter and clutter: barrel is sparkly and bears a lot of print on side opposite of logo

This was one of my first purchases from JetPens yet the brush nib shows no wear (no fraying at all, writes like it did
on the first day out of the bubble envelope!). Add realistic, beautiful shadowing, and build up the shading to your
heart's feel confident that even if Kuretake offered 50 shades of grey, you'd still pick this one (ha ha).

This brush pen is fantastic! It works just like a marker, and goes on a little opaque, allowing you to build up color a little. It's a nice, light color that you can easily darken by going over the same area twice, which is great for shading art.

It seemed to be picking up the black ink I used on the outlines a bit, but it wasn't very much at all and it didn't cause a ton of bleeding. I only wish there more colors to choose from, because I would totally want a full set.
