This template is amazing! I love it so much, I have this, the mini and the Western envelope templates and I use them all the time. I've tried with many different kinds of paper, from origami to scrapbooking, card stock, newspapers and old magazines, and even cloth. They work well and are extremely sturdy, but I baby them anyways. I feel they add an extra special touch to mundane letter mail or gift-giving.

I purchased this template and the western template as well. I also got the mini envelope Japanese version. I love all three! I believe that I love this template best! Such a neat precise template and it uses the paper very efficiently. Because it is so precise you can usually get more than one envelope out of a piece of paper. Because of the shape of this envelope, it is a little different from the western template, It is much easier to assemble. Also I find that it fits the shape of many different things. I have been using it to make envelopes for a friends wedding. She wanted envelopes to put in her invitations that had a hand made feel to them. This was perfect to accomplish that. She also used the Mini envelope maker to make gift envelopes for her wedding party. This template would make fantastic donation envelopes! This template works great with all types of paper. I use Newsprint, Butcher paper, Cardstock, and even Christmas wrapping paper to make envelopes. I just love using this template. This template will pay for itself in very little time. Because you can make 4 different sizes you have access to envelopes at any time. No running out to find envelopes when you run out. Just make yourself one. the sizes are clearly indicated.

Easy to use. The shape of these envelopes is long and narrow. The smallest one is below the regulated measurements for USPS letters and may not make it through US mail.

I bought this to make cool envelopes to send to my friends. This template works well, but be careful: it can get pretty addicting/meditative!

It's very easy to use. But if you're like me who would like to use this for checks, I suggest you to choose the western version instead of this. The four sizes in this one are either too big or too small.

Simple, handy, artsy. I used this template for envelopes cut from some of my photographs printed on plain paper to send promotion pieces to a fewe special clients. The resulting envelopes were unique and attention-grabbing.
The printed directions are much easer to follow than one would think from the description and photos. The template itself is sturdy and easily held in place when tracing or cutting. I may not use it often, but it is a handy thing to have for inspired moments. I would purchase again.

Thick template, easy to use, fairly wide tolerance for error. Before this, I used several paper templates I had made myself. They worked well, but it's nice to have a single plastic template with four sizes. This way you can easily make return envelopes for the three biggest sizes. Packaging of the template is pretty cute too.

If you are careful not to shift the paper, you can trace an envelope onto one piece of paper, set it atop ~6 more sheets, and cut them all out at once with a knife and straightedge. You can score folds through about three pieces of copy paper at once. This way, you can make envelopes very efficiently.

For return envelopes, stick double sided tape to the flap and leave the backing on.
