This Template is so much fun to use. I use it in conjunction with the Nichiban Adhesive Dot DS Professional Tape - 8.4 mm X 13 m tape dispenser. These two items together make envelopes so easy you will never buy another. I use Origami paper, Wrapping paper, Christmas papers, and even scrapbooking papers. Heavy Cardstock is good to use as well! I love that it has 4 sizes in the template as well. Recently I made cards and needed Envelopes to send them in. I used standard 8.5X11 and folded in half the biggest template did not fit. So what I did was take the size of the folded card, traced the size onto a cardboard and then took the template and improvised by placing the template at each corresponding corner then traced part way out to the point then met the two lines in the middle with the point of the template making an custom envelop from this ever so useful tool!
P.S. you will love the ohto pen cutter to cut the lines after you trace them. its so efficient you never have to lift the paper to cut the the envelope out. http://www.jetpens.com/Ohto-Retractable-Pen-Style-Ceramic-Cutter-Silver-Body /pd/8352

I LOVE this template. It's got 4 sizes and the plastic is nice and sturdy. It doesn't bend, so your pencil won't stray from the lines. :) The ONLY "downside" to this template is the layout. It's at an angle. If you're using patterned 12x12 paper to make envelopes (like I do), your pattern on the larger sizes is going to be diagonal.

Love this template, and...

Love this template, and I use it regularly to create envelopes to send small messages to my 7 year old daughter. My *only* frustration is that sizes A and B do not fit on a 8.5 x 11 paper, so you really do need specific paper if you want to make the larger sizes (might fit on an A4). Not a deal breaker in the least, but I thought to mention it.

This template is good...

This template is good for making envelopes.
There are only two problems I have with it:

1) As another review mentioned, it is diagonal so a patterned paper will have the picture slanted diagonally. On repetitive patterns this is not such a big deal, but with some decorative papers this can make the picture look odd or be cut off at an awkward angle.

2) I am not sure if perhaps I am doing something wrong, but my envelopes look a bit slanted. One side is perpetually longer than the other. I am scoring and folding just as directed using a ruler to be sure the lines are straight, but no matter what I always end up with a slight angle to the envelope. If anyone has any advice on how to rectify this please let me know. At this point I am assuming it is my user error. But it may be possible that the diagonal template is causing this uneven appearance.

Overall, I do like this template, though a bit pricey imo. I may look for a different template down the road, but for now this works.
