This is pretty nifty and works exactly as described. My only problem was
figuring out how to fill the pen cartridge with water, since I can't read the
Japanese instructions. The cartridge is rigid plastic (not squeezable), and its
opening is small (water won't flow in freely). I used a small eyedropper to
fill the cartridge.
Other than that, my only other observation is that writing fades pretty quickly,
which may hinder your ability to review your work. On the other hand, it
definitely saves a lot of paper!

Hardest part was getting water into the pen, it needed either an eyedropper or a
syringe. However I will say this was indeed useful in practicing my handwriting,
as well as just overall studying. 30 seconds may not be enough for some people
but you shouldn't be spending too long writing one character anyways. The harder
you press, the longer the writing will stay. This set also lets you practice
writing faster, there are boxes for kanji practice and lines for sentence
writing, as well as a small blank area for general... drawing I guess? I would
have said something about "what if i lose my pen" and stuff, but they have a
folder that includes a slot specifically for your waterpen. If anything I would
like to know the sheet usage life, but it hasn't shown any signs of deteriorate
yet if ever (this special material is quite cool(cold) to touch). ANYWAYS, it's
helped me a bunch with my studying and calligraphy, would recommend.
