My "goldilocks zone"...

My "goldilocks zone" nib for my lamy safari. Has the boldness of the medium without leaving such a thick/wet line, and has the precision of the extra-fine without being scratchy or too fine. Also has buttery smoothness on par with the medium nib.

Highly recommended if you have pretty normal-sized hand writing. Works well for both cursive and printed letters.

My favorite size of Lamy nib. As another reviewer said, it is my "goldilocks" size - not too big, not too small. I find the extra fine nib to be rather scratchy at times, and the medium can be a bit too thick for some papers (though very buttery to write with.)

This is the perfect in-between - leaves a bold line without having to make my letters/lines too large and is still very smooth to write with. Can also write with this nib upside-down to make smaller margin notes if needed (without being insanely scratchy.)

My lettering is average size, and I can write very quickly when taking notes - this nib keeps up with no problem; doesn't flood the page with ink, but doesn't leave you hanging while the feed catches up.

I highly recommend this nib size to any Lamy fan!

Lamy's excellent design allows quick and easy swaps between multiple nibs. The fine, however, is practically indistinguishable from the medium. Lays down a smooth, wet line that's quick to dry (here, using Noodler's Heart of Darkness). The black finish goes well with the Charcoal Lamy Safari.

I like the fine point. Extra fine can be scratchy and medium is too thick. This is the Goldilocks nib for me.

Lamy nibs have been a bit of a hit or miss so it was nice to finally get a smooth one!

Standard Lamy nib, and like every other size I've tried multiples of, there's variation from nib to nib. One of my F nibs writes like a medium, the other writes more like an EF. Not a favorite nib width for me in fountain pens usually, but I haven't tried either of my Fs for drawing either. As always with a Lamy nib, if you really want a particular exact nib width, try several in person. I'm not very fussy, so I just grab out of my stash.

A really nice nib. I needed to replace an extra fine Lamy nib. I could not get a good ink flow with the extra fine. You can with the fine nib and if you use the back side of the fine nib you will get an extra fine stroke. So the best of two worlds with the fine nib. I use my Lamy pens for sketching.

I think the nib writes a bit wide compared to my Sailor fine 21K gold nib but a major difference in price between the two and seems more medium in size than fine compared to the sailor. I don't have problems with ink flow, minor drag on photocopy paper but the better the paper that improves. I think the pen and nib is great value, I've had it long enough that I just refilled the pen with ink so it's been used quite a bit. It writes really nice and looks great in my black Lamy Safari.
