One cannot help but rejoice over the smooth flowing ink and crisp calligraphy lines from the Lamy Joy Calligraphy fountain pen. It is easy to refill with ink cartridges and its unique fountain pen design allows for continuous ink flow. 1.1, 1.5, and 1.9 mm nib widths are available.

This pen is made of shiny black plastic, and features an ergonomic grip and flexible spring brass wire clip. A variety of ink cartridges or a Lamy converter can be used. Installing ink cartridges is easy—simply insert the cartridge into the pen nib section (no need to push completely), then twist the barrel onto the nib section. Attaching the barrel automatically punctures and installs the ink cartridge.

Includes one Blue Lamy T10 ink cartridge.

The video features a 1.5 mm Lamy Calligraphy Pen Nib.

I just recieved my Lamy Joy 1.1, and I've been writing with it all day! I love that it comes with a converter- I filled it with Noodlers Polar Blue and it's gliding as smooth as silk across the paper. It doesn't have a sharp calligraphy effect, maybe because of the small nib, but it makes my hand writing look fabulous. I can write fairly fast, with a nice bold line. This pen has flat edges for your thumb and forefinger, almost like a triangle, and it's really comfortable to hold. I don't like it with the cap posted because it makes it too heavy for my liking. Without the cap, it's light as a feather. Love the red clip on the black body. This is already a favorite! :)

I ordered this small nib because I like to take notes with calligraphy pens. It keeps me entertained, alongside bright-colored inks. It is a great size but probably wouldn't work well for serious calligraphy-writing as it is almost too fine to see a width difference. This is a Lamy, so you know it's going to be high-quality.

Got this pen today & wrote all evening with it at work, what a pleasure! It's as light as a feather, with flat placement points for your finger & thumb to help maintain proper nib position on the page. The option of cartridge or converter is very nice. I'm ordering another size soon...

I couldn't be happier with the Lamy Joy! I am new to fountain pens and this is only my second. My other fountain pen is a Cross Century II fine nib. My writing is fairly small and I wasn't sure how big of a nib could accommodate my everyday writing style which is why I originally went with the Cross. The 1.1mm nib on the Joy is small enough that it has become my daily work pen though and wide enough that everything I write has a subtle pop to it (which is exactly what I was looking for).

Without the cap on it is as light as a feather. I can't comment on the length as I'm less experienced with a typical fountain pen but it feels great in my small hands. I'm on my 2nd converter refill since purchasing and have not experienced any skipping or leaks when writing. There is barely any feathering even on cheap office paper (I use Noodler's 54th Massachusetts). I travel with the pen daily either on my person or in my purse and have not experienced any leaks either from the nib or converter. I can't say enough good things about the Joy.

Finally, if you're a left-handed person considering this pen, take the plunge! I was hesitant to use a fountain pen as I drag my hand when writing, but after a day or two of practice, I have not had any issues with either of my fountain pens. The writing angle is actually better for me and causes less hand fatigue.
