The pen is compatible with ink cartridges or a Lamy converter. Installing an ink cartridge is easy—simply insert the cartridge into the pen nib section (no need to push completely), then twist the barrel onto the nib section. Attaching the barrel automatically punctures and installs the ink cartridge. Watch a demonstration in the video below.

My absolute favorite....
My absolute favorite. This is high-end for my collection, but I can't imagine getting anything that works better. I use this with a converter, and can write for an hour. The ergnomic barrel grafts to your hand. The body is light as air. Ink flows consistently and cleanly to a solid line. When I saw these were becoming rare, I immediately got a second ... you never know when you might lose your best pen, after all!
Only downside is that the clip tempts you to use it, but it's delicate. Mine snapped, so treat yours as a decoration and you'll be fine.
