Lamy Nexx M Aluminum Body Fountain Pen - Extra Fine Steel Nib - Orange Cap + Metal Clip

I bought this pen to attach to the end of my id lanyard at work. I received it 2 days after I ordered it, yay for JetPens' speedy standard shipping! I installed my converter and filled it with J. Herbin Bleu Perverche and started to write. At first, I was a little concerned because the ink flow was a little skippy; but, after about a minute of constant writing, the flow corrected itself. This is the perfect nib size for anyone who likes a fine line. I am extremely satisfied with the purchase.

The Lamy Nexx M is slight modification to the standard Nexx fountain pen, with that modification (or in this case, improvement) being a metal clip on the cap instead of plastic. The clip, matching the barrel, makes for an modern looking pen. In addition, the metal clip adds a little weight to the pen, noticable when you post the cap. For some reason, the cap on the Nexx M posts better than the cap on my Nexx. This make for a nice balanced pen.

The nibs on a Lamy always write big, but I'm surprised at the line created by the Extra Fine (EF) nib on the Nexx M. Nice and even and not as thin as extra fine implies.

Overall, 5 stars for both design apperance and performance. Do yourself a favor and add a Nexx M to your Lamy collection.

I am reviewing this pen based on my experience with the Safari and how much I want this pen in comparison to it. It seems to be just like the safari but significantly upgraded, and the great safari grip is now in rubber and more comfortable. The aluminum in this pen is a step up in durability and it looks fantastic. The clip no longer looks like a big toy paperclip, either. I did not like the plastic clip on the normal Nexx, but this is awesome! Please restock this pen so I can buy one. Lamy is testing out the Nexx M for the American Market demand. Yes, there is demand. It would be nice if there was an ink window like the safari. I will likely drill a slot so I can see the ink. It is aluminum, so I don't have to worry about it cracking :)

Love this pen! It's beautiful! I especially love the rubber grip. It makes the pen even more comfortable to use than the Lamy Safari.
The pen is bulkier than the Safari (the cap, specifically), though not by much.
