A variety of ink cartridges or a Lamy converter can be used. Installing ink cartridges is easy—simply insert the cartridge into the pen nib section (no need to push completely), then twist the barrel onto the nib section. Attaching the barrel automatically punctures and installs the ink cartridge. Watch a demonstration in the video below.
Once you have loaded your ink, you can get creative with this 1.5 mm calligraphy nib, drawing wide diagonal lines and thin horizontal lines to create stylish lettering and flourishes.
This pen includes one blue Lamy T10 cartridge.

My 3rd Safari, the first...
My 3rd Safari, the first with the 1.5 nib. I actually like the intense yellow of this pen...what I would call Canary Yellow. Easy to find among the other pens sitting in my jelly jar holding cup. Nice ink window, bulletproof wire clip, etc. The nib is 'Safari Smooth'. Never tried a Lamy pen that didn't have a glassy glide, even when new. The same day I got this I also received a bottle of Noodler's Apache Sunset ink...an intentional pairing. Did the soapy water then rinse routine on a converter I had on hand, filled it with Apache Sunset and off I went...a page of perfectly shaded cursive later I sat with a big dumb grin...yeah, perfect!
