Life is a jungle, and the special Lamy Safari pen can take you through it one stroke at a time. Lamy is a world-famous pen company headquartered in Germany. Their Safari line consists of high quality pens made of sturdy plastic and self-sprung chrome metal clips.

The Lamy conveniently refills with ink cartridges. There’s no need to push in cartridges, just insert cartridge and twist the barrel, and the pen tightens to puncture the cartridge itself.

This pen includes one Blue Lamy T10 cartridge.

This was my first Lamy...

This was my first Lamy fountain pen, and I love it! I got it to take with me to clinicals, as I am a nursing student. I ended up purchasing a Fine nib and switching from the Extra Fine that I ordered (there's a really simple video on youtube for changing Lamy nibs!) and I like it much better. I liked the EF but in the situation that I was using it in, I wrote way too fast for an EF nib. It's very durable and professional looking. My classmates are always asking to write a few words with it because they love the feel of it too! I also love how it is refillable and that there is a converter available. I ended up taking the converter out though, because (once again, specific to my situation) it is easier to carry an extra black cartridge with me in a hospital than a bottle of ink!

My first Lamy, and it won't be the last!! LOVE IT!! I have been using other less expensive fountain pens for drawing, and though I am happy with them, the look, feel and performance of the Lamy clearly makes it superior.
I look forward adding other Lamy fountain pens to my small but growing collection.

Like my other Lamy fountain pens, this one works great. I added the converter to use the Diamine grey ink.

I'm a fledgling fountain pen user and would always see recommendations for the Lamy Safari when looking up information about fountain pens. A few pens later and I've finally purchased one, and it's now my go-to pen for daily writing. The design is really unlike anything else available, and the little ink window is great for keeping an eye on my ink level without having to open up the pen all the time. I also love the little notches inside that lock the converter into place.

I've seen quite a few people complain about their Lamy nibs, especially the EF size, but I'm happy to say that mine wrote wonderfully right out of the box. It's a tad scratchier than my Pilot pens, but not unbearably so, and I haven't had any issues with the pen failing to start or having an incredibly small sweet spot. Still, I'd heed other people's experiences. It's what kept me from buying this pen first, after all.

I did run into two issues of my own. The grip design requires me to rest my fingers a little higher on the grip than usual, otherwise my fingers will start to dig into the edges at the end. I got used to it pretty quickly, but your mileage may vary. I also find the pen to be too top heavy while the cap is posted, so I just leave the cap off while writing. Thankfully the journal I'm using has a pen loop, so I just leave the cap clipped onto that while I'm writing.
