52.3 g/sq m is light (office paper is around 80 g/sq m) but I assumed since Maruman thinks it's good enough to sell it must not have any problems.

Well at first it did seem to be good, it feels sturdy and holds up well to an eraser, but after I had a couple sketches in it I noticed something. Because the paper is rather thin you can easily see through one sheet to the one below it. Now when I look at my first sketch I can see my second sketch behind it.

Ironically I enjoy this sketchbook for the con pointed out in the other review, the pages are very light which makes for a great design sketchbook. How I handle it is I skip every other page and rough out a design then flip back and do a cleaner sketch on top. no real con other then the fact that it can't handle a large amount of ink very well but that's to be expected with any lightweight paper

I love these sketchbooks. I like to carry small bags, and this fits nicely in those sorts of bags. The size is just right for that sort of sketching. I actually like the thinner paper, because it makes more sheets fit into less space. If you want to draw with tons of ink, this might not be for you, but for basic pencil and pen sketching, this is great. I like to decorate the covers, too - they're nice for that.
