My personal favourite...., February 5, 2013
My personal favourite. Good line spacing (a little narrower than American
standard stationery), great paper quality, and the plastic covers are
see-through so you can write any title you like on the first page and have it
readable. Colours are fun and bright, yet classy so they look good in any
context. I've used everything from a pretty wet Lamy fine point FP down to 0.4
mm G-Tecs with excellent results. A5 is the champion size for having a good
amount room while still being very portable.
Covers have a slight "corduroy" finish to them--scored diagonally. Entertaining
to make little "vip vip" noises by going over it with the back of a fingernail.
Obsessives who might annoy others with this sound in a classroom or office might
want to avoid this notebook. :)

Gorgeous purple color!!!!
The..., April 15, 2012
This review is from Maruman Sept Couleur Notebook - A5 (5.8" X 8.3") - 7 mm Rule + Perforations - 26 Lines X 80 Sheets - Purple
Gorgeous purple color!!!!
The pics don't do it justice. The actual color is bolder than the pale lavender
shown in this picture. Its not pastel or pale at all! So far this purple is my
favorite followed by blue, then teal, and orange last. Still I want to get the
pink and green too, and is yellow permanently out of stock, because the yellow
would be so pretty if its actually as bold as the other notebooks are compared
to their pale misrepresentations on this site ;-) that was a long run-on
sentence!!!
ok now I'll just stick to the product review basics:
paper excellent, no bleed-thru with all inks I've tried (didn't try markers,
just gel, ballpoint, felt tip, & fountain inks)
pages tear out smoothly, if you don't tear out a page it stays firmly attached,
you can even write across the perforated area without noticing its there!
ruled lines faint, non-obtrusive, no margins on left or right, there is a small
top margin & even smaller bottom margin
color very lovely, as I've stated in all my reviews of Sept coleurs the pictures
here are lighter than reality
A5 size portable, probably too small for school notes
price with coupon is slightly more palatable than without coupon...hope coupon
lasts forever...hint hint...we luv u jetpens!!!!!
number of pages good, perfectly proportional to its size
spiral binding sturdy and good
durable plastic cover good
sometimes the plastic cover gathers static electricity & attracts dirt/dust/etc
and you have to clean it

Lovely color, high-quality..., May 3, 2012
This review is from Maruman Sept Couleur Notebook - A4 (8.3" X 11.7") - 7 mm Rule + Perforations - 36 Lines X 80 Sheets - Pink
Lovely color, high-quality paper, solid construction--a great product from a
great company. See my reviews for the purple, orange, and blue A5 Sept Couleurs
if you want to know exactly why I love these notebooks. The A4 size is a bigger
version of the A5; if you have seen the A5', these are almost the same, so
they're exactly what you'd expect.
Other than the size, the only difference between the A5 and A4 is: the smaller
A5 notebooks have a sturdy plastic cover on front AND back, but the larger A4
notebooks only have the colored plastic cover in front--the back of the A4 is
very sturdy thick cardboard. If you think about it, the plastic is sturdy enough
for the smaller notebooks so that they don't need a strong cardboard back. But I
was just a tiny bit disappointed at first when I saw the cardboard instead of
the pretty plastic cover..then I liked it bc its much stronger, so FIVE STARS!!
I think the price is a bit high even with the coupon or the bulk discount...but
if you want a GREAT high-quality A4 notebook with lots of pages, smooth paper,
and a very pretty colored plastic cover, THIS Sept Couleur notebook is one to
splurge on, if you have a little spending money, or perhaps, a friendly rich
person decides to buy your school supplies for you, or whatever. ;-)
Most of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beautiful pink colored cover!!! Its more
magenta than pink, and the pics on this site make it look like a washed-out or
pale pink...but it is very bold and bright, and you will love writing in it with
a Zebra Sarasa Clip in Magenta, a Pilot Hi-Tec C in Strawberry Pink...or,
whatever you like. (LOL now I sound like I work for Jetpens...but really, I'm
just a very loyal customer!)
Oh and if you don't want a bright pink girly notebook, get the green A4
notebook....I bought both pink & green to compare, and they're equally great--
but green is not as flashy or bright as the pink)

Beautiful blue color--these..., April 15, 2012
This review is from Maruman Sept Couleur Notebook - A5 (5.8" X 8.3") - 7 mm Rule + Perforations - 26 Lines X 80 Sheets - Blue
Beautiful blue color--these pictures do not show the "true blue" which is deeper
and bolder than the pics show. After the purple Sept color, this blue color is
my favorite. My next purchase will be the A4 size pink & green because if the
blue is so pretty, the pink and green should be equally lovely.
Oh and the paper is great, just what you'd expect from Maruman. 7mm rule is just
a little narrower than college rule, like 1mm smaller I think? Even if you
prefer narrower like 6mm, give these a try because they are just so pretty and a
pleasure to write in!
The paper in Sept color works very well with the 5mm Zebra Sarasa Clip pens,
especially Pale Blue or Cobalt Blue specifically with this blue notebook.

Great little lined notebook..., March 19, 2012
This review is from Maruman Sept Couleur Notebook - A5 (5.8" X 8.3") - 7 mm Rule + Perforations - 26 Lines X 80 Sheets - Orange
Great little lined notebook with a sturdy plastic cover. Its small, not suitable
for schoolwork in my opinion because of the small size. Better as a journal or
memo book.
The paper quality is excellent and there's hardly any show-thru from any of my
gel pens, even dark, bold ink colors don't bleed thru or show thru.
The hard, slightly flexible plastic cover protects the pages when I throw it in
my bag or purse.
Its 7mm ruled lines are faint but visible enough to be useful. If you like
college ruled paper, you will probably like the 7mm ruled pages in Sept Couleur
notebooks.
Also, the colors offered are so vibrant and beautiful, I want all of the
different colors even though I have more notebooks in my collection than I could
possibly use in a lifetime :-) ...but here I am buying more...
My recommendation: Start your own Jetpens collection with a few Sept Couleur A5
notebooks and a couple of Uniball Signo DX 0.38 mm gel pens. You WILL be back
for more!
