Metropolitan Museum of Art Ballpoint Pen - Medium Point - Tiffany Peacock Feathers

This item is no longer available for sale on
The design of this beautiful ballpoint pen is based on a glass vase by American artist Louis Comfort Tiffany. In the early 1890s, he invented a technique for melting different colors of glass together to create shimmering, iridescent effects. Favrile glass, as he termed it, turned out to be the perfect medium for expressing the luminosity of peacock feathers which now decorate this pen as well.

A twist mechanism is used to extend and retract the pen, which contains black ink. The pen accepts standard ballpoint refills such as the Schmidt P900 or Parker Golden Touch.
