DescriptionSpecificationsQuestions & Answers
Made in Japan, this simple notebook was designed to create a writing experience that you will enjoy. The high-quality Midori Diary (MD) paper inside was developed in 1960 and has been continuously improved on ever since. Midori has conducted many tests using a variety of writing instruments to inspect the paper quality, including observing whether the ink feathers or bleeds, how it dries, how well the pen tips glide across the surface, how the paper feels to the touch, and so on. As a result, the paper is bleed-resistant, feather-resistant, and fountain-pen friendly, giving the user a pleasant writing experience.

The notebook has a sturdy thread binding that lies flat when open, making it easy to write. It also comes with a ribbon marker to keep your place. The cover is not a typical notebook cover. To feature the charm of the paper itself, the cloth tape used to bind the spine, usually hidden by a cover, is exposed, giving the notebook a unique look. You can even see where the ribbon marker is glued in place. The notebook also comes with sticker labels that can be used to label the notebook.

Notebook covers for protecting your notebook are available separately.

Note: this notebook is the same as the Midori MD Notebook with model number 13803006, except for the paper band design.

This is the A5 Blank notebook. Photos of writing feature the 4" x 6" Lined notebook.

So I have covered this in washi tape, put on a plastic cover and almost filled this notebook with journaling, collage, pictures, stamping, etc and was thinking about what I should use next, but then said to myself, why change it if it's working for you? Duh! It wasn't always totally happy with my Pilot fountain pen, but my LAMY works better. I have mostly been writing on the right side, putting some things in there - and then doing mostly collage on the left sides with deli paper since there is a little bleed-through occasionally. Time to order another one.

It's okay notebook. The ink doesn't show through the paper. The only thing is the paper structure - it's not as smooth as tomoe river blocks and traveller's notebook fillers. So the only pen of my collection that writes really pleasantly and easily is Metropolitan Pilot Pen (M). Other like Penmanship, Plumix, Schneider and TWSBI write a bit difficult and dry-like, though the ink same as at Metropolitan. But it's absolutely aesthetic, minimalistic and representative - I love just to watch it laying at the table near me =)

Midori makes beautiful quality paper and this is no exception. This notebook was nice and simple and, paired with the Midori MD Notebook cover, feels very nice and I don't worry about it getting messed up in my purse (which it is a perfect size for). It's a slim notebook and works well for sketches and pen, fountain and otherwise. I highly recommend this line!
