The Midori Pulp Storage Pasco Pen Case is made of a special material called "Pasco", which is a blend of recycled paper and new pulp. Although lightweight, it is thick and sturdy, and holds its shape well. This unique pen case has a charming papery texture, look, and feel, and will fit in well at school or the office. It's compact and slips easily into your backpack or briefcase. With two snaps to close, the pen case keeps all your writing instruments secure. The surface of the pen case has a water-repellant treatment, so you don't have to worry about a little rain or accidental spills!

Note: This case is not long enough to hold most normal-length wooden pencils until they have been used a little.

It is very sturdy (stronger than cardboard, it's like a hardcover on a book) and can hold quite a few things. Pinching the flap (to see how thick it is) feels like the stuff was compacted to the point it takes effort to bend it (but I wouldn't chance that). I have the black boxy eraser that fits perfectly in one corner, 2 of my draft pencils, a pair of 5.5-inch scissors, 2 packs of lead holders, one eraser pen, and 2-3 more lead pencils&pens. Very easy to snap closed and you don't have to worry about anything falling out. Whoever designed this, s/he made sure to cover the corners where nothing can fall out of.
It is not the black color you expect due to being made from its material. It looks exactly like the photo - rustic presenting. I am completely satisfied with my purchase of this case. This could even be used to hold one pair of glasses by itself. If the width length was doubled its size compared to its current size, I would love to purchase it so it can hold all that I listed and my pair of glasses/contact case.

Con - You have to lift one side first then the other from its snap-on buttons. Don't force to open straight in the middle, you'll risk bending the case.

This is a sturdy and simple case for carrying pens and or pencils. The case is made from a dense fiberboard and appears to be sturdy and well made. I use it in my art bag because I've stuck my finger on the end of sharpened graphite pencils one to many times. Two snaps hold it closed. If you only have a few pencils in it they will rattle around and possible break the tips. I put a small piece of foam packing material on the inside of one end to keep that from being a problem.

The texture and looks of this product is great. Feels quite solid, even though it's "only" cardboard. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could. Reason for knocking off half a star: your pens rattle around quite a bit in the case and I'm concerned they will get scratched. Also, the rattling sounds unpleasant. Maybe I should try to cover the inside with a felt-like material.

I didn't need this. I kept going back to look at it and it seemed like a nice size for travel carry. My large pencil bag is a makeup bag that I bought specifically for pens and pencils, it is a padded, zipper-top bag that works well, but I had trouble finding a rigid case locally so I ordered this case. I received my order in two business days, then put all my new pens from that order right in this case. It stashes nicely in my shallow desk drawer. I will probably purchase more in the future, they are lightweight and handy.

Great case and a great price. Looks so cool and fun to carry around. It does rattle, unless it's completely full. And you do have to take everything out when you are looking for a specific pen. But still cool. I like it.
