Monami Super Gel-Q Gel Ink Pen - 0.4 mm - Blue Black

This pen was a very pleasant surprise. It writes extremely smoothly, comparable to the Signo DX's and the Hi-Tec-C's. The ink is a bit more watery than I expected but it does dries in 3 seconds like the pen boasts. There is no pooling at all. I have no complaints in terms of performance other than it takes a few seconds to start up.

In terms of color, this was a little more blue-green than I expected it to be. It doesn't match the cap/grip/body color.

If you break apart what they call this pen like "Mon ami" it means my friend. And that's exactly what this pen has become to me. After I received my first one I have ordered at least 7 more in different colors. The grip alone is makes it awesome. The writing is smooth and this beauty does not skip. I love my Monami pens.

A bit thinner than expected from a 0.4mm line, and it scratches the paper. Sometimes it skips. The form factor is the same as other models from Uni (Signo) and Pilot (Hi-Tec) with a rubber grip. I would recommend the other brands.

After four or five uses, the ink of the pen just disappeared. POOF, it was gone. Monami my ass.
The ink was smooth and it flowed and suddenly it just stopped. I tried every possible way to get the ink out, but nothing happened. Now I have a useless $3 pen. HOORAY.

The pen is almost the exact length and width of the Signo DX, and has a tip similar to the Slicci or HiTec-C. It is a tiny bit lighter than the DX. The color and width is a match for the 0.4 slicci blue (204C). I really like the feel and design of the pen. Like my HiTec-Cs, on good paper it writes very well, but on average paper it scratches. My slicci instruments write well on a wider range of paper qualities. However, keep wanting to reach for this pen first. I am hoping this single pen is not up to standards and the next ones I try will be-gotta try several to be sure.
