These refills are GREAT. I purchased a Lamy 2000 ballpoint pen some time ago
from another vendor, and I discovered that the standard (proprietary) M16 Lamy
refills are very sub-par. The M16s are very dry, they drag across the page, they
skip, etc., which is all very surprising considering the high quality and
beautiful design of Lamy pens. These Monteverde refills are the answer to Lamy
ballpoint pen users' problems. The blue black is a wonderful deep blue (very
different from the grayish-black M16 color), and the ink performs wonderfully.
It's smooth and consistent. If you're in the market for some Lamy ballpoint
refills, don't buy from Lamy. Buy these things. Also, JetPens is an excellent
vendor. I've had nothing but positive experiences with them. The orders are
always well-packed and arrive incredibly quickly. I highly recommend them.
Really average ballpoint- not in the same league as Uni-ball's Jetstream,
Pilot's Acroball, & Zebra's Surari or even the better conventional ballpoint
inks. I was hoping that finally my Lamy Safari retractable ballpoint would write
well enough for me to use it more- I love the pen body but can't get over how
mediocre the ink & tip are- but this is not much better. For the price it's
Absolutely resurrects my use of Lamy ballpoints (whose refills' draggy feel and
grayish black both bug me). The Monteverde Soft Roll is the best refill I've
ever used outside of the broad Mont Blanc, and I think it even beats that for
consistency. Only complaint is I wish a broad point was available.
