The always innovating Noodler's Ink has created its own brand of fountain pens! JetPens gives Noodler's Ink mad props for putting together the whole manufacturing process behind the pens in such a short amount of time! We are also very honored to be one of the first retailers selected to carry this new product line.

Born out of the ingenuity and experience of the ink designer and pen connoisseur Nathan at Noodler's Ink, the Noodler's Ink fountain pens are truly one-of-a-kind writing instruments that were designed for the avid and fountain pen users.

The first line is a very, very affordable piston-filling fountain pen. This pen body is cleverly devised so that one can simply twist to extend the back end of the barrel in order to create suction in the piston inside the pen to draw ink. Moreover, there is an ink window near the grip of the pen, so one can monitor the ink level of the pen. This line of pens contains 5 body colors (black, navy, red, burgundy, or turquoise) for your varied tastes. The second line of pens wear a special handmade ebonite body that comes in 2 unique colors: mottled green or brown. The ebonite body gives a great grip while maintains a good heft. The pen comes with an aerometric filling system. Both product lines use a fine medium steel nib, which is between fine and medium size nibs in the US. The Noodler's Ink brand is engraved on both the nib face and clip of the pens.

Each pen comes with a paper box that displays the beloved Noodler's mascot catfish along with drawings of characters from the labels for some popular Noodler's Ink fountain pen inks. See if you can pick them out.

I have the piston-fill Noodler's Ink pen and have come to prefer it over this one, mostly because my smaller hand finds the diminutive Pilot Prera quite comfortable and by no means too small, so this pen is a bit large for comfort.

This pen is my first ebonite pen and I fully agree with all the positive things previous reviewers said.

The underside of this stainless steel nib has "ERO 1" stamped into it. That was the name of a popular gold nib before World War II.

Anticipating bad luck converting this to an eyedropper pen (see Platinum Preppy) I was delighted to discover a Pilot cartridge fits perfectly, after you first remove the squeeze bag ("sac") completely.

The Pilot cartridge fits snugly, but not nearly as snugly as it does in Pilot Pens, so as an extra measure of safety, I wrap it with one wrap of scotch tape to secure the cartridge to the nib section for those times when I drop the pen, or hurl it at a cat.

I really like this pen. Ebonite (hard rubber!) was used in the very first fountain pens over a hundred years ago (most were black), and fell out of favor when plastics were invented. I have several from the turn of the 20th century- Now, many makers charge a real premium for ebonite pens, especially for the mottled colors- and mottled green/black is very rare in vintage pens.
Ebonite instantly feels warm to the touch, and feels great in your hand. This pen write really well, and used as an eyedropper you can get tons of ink into it. It has a nice balance and is very light. Fit and finish might be a tiny bit short, but this pen is an amazing value.

I have the less expensive piston fill Noodler's fountain pen---and love it. But what is the "aerometic/eyedropper fill" system? Thanks

This pen is fantastic. I loaded it up with "heart of Darkness" and it has become one of my favorites. For the price the pen feels good in your hand and is weighted well when posted. The filling system is easy to use and holds a surprising amount of ink. This is a great pen for beginners just getting into bottle fill pen systems. Thank you Noodler's.
