I love thin points, but unfortunately this 0.3mm ballpoint was just too scratchy
for me. The pen is cute, but very light-weight. It feels cheaply made. Despite
the negatives that I listed, it was a fun to experience a needle ballpoint pen!

Ohto Pieni Wooden Body Mini Needle-Point Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Gray Body
This pen is truly a disappointment. First, the construction is flimsy--the inner
ink chamber rattles against the wooden pen body. Secondly, I was using this pen
yesterday and suddenly felt stickiness on my fingers. I thought it was the ink
dripping, but I discovered it was the paint of the pen itself!! I have never had
paint drip off my pen body before. I couldn't believe that Ohto would put out
such a low quality ballpoint pen and charge so much for it! I am totally
disappointed at this product.

Ohto Pieni Border Needle-Point Ballpoint Pen - 0.3 mm - Black Body
Cute pen. Love the design. Kind of on the more expensive side in terms of what
you receive. Would get a 3/5 if it weren't so nice looking!
I got the 0.3mm pen with a 0.5mm refill. Now, at first I thought both performed
rather below average but I got them to work well with changing just 2 things. 1
- write with light pressure. As with many pens below 0.4 mm, it helps with
scratchiness when you ease up on the pressure. 2 - use smooth paper. I first
used a generic notebook and the pen was skipping and acting horribly. On
smoother paper it wrote sooo much better.
Warning: Both size tips had ink globbing issues and smeared easily because of
this.
Warning 2: This is a wooden body pen and will damage easily. Odd, I know, but
adds to the overall quirkiness of it (if you like that).
Even with all that, I still think it's a fun, good-looking pen that I'm happy to
have in my collection.

Ohto Pieni Wooden Body Mini Needle-Point Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Orange Body
I love this pen. It's nice to carry around an it's very attractive. A few
problems I had, though, is that the wood is very soft--the clip tears right into
it. Apart from that, if you get ink on the barrel, it just won't come off. My
pen looks like it's taken a severe beating, but overall, it's still good quality
for a ballpoint.

Ohto Pieni Stripe Needle-Point Ballpoint Pen - 0.3 mm - Black Body
I LOVE this pen, it's very tiny and produces very crisp, clear and clean lines.
Although I wouldn't highly recommend it for people who have bad 'posture' or
grip on pens (it's a tight woodcase body, so not to comfortable in hand if you
tightly hold it), I would recommend it to anyone who wants small lines, one
downfall is the rate at which it loses ink, in one week it has already lost half
of its cartridge. Maybe it's just my obsessive use for it. Thumbs up.

As mentioned in other reviews the rattling can be a bit distracting. I don't
dislike this pen, but it's not my favorite. I like the fact that it has a wooden
body which is soft to touch and light in your hand, however the wood is prone to
dents, marks, and other types of blemishes. I haven't experienced any issues
with ink flow, or ink beading at the tip but I don't use this pen extensively. I
purchased it as a companion to my A6 pocket notebooks which I use for writing
lists or jotting down short notes.

I have to admit, I don't use this pen with any regularity as they (I have 2) are
usually relegated to my purse's pen bag. I therefore have not really noticed
the rattling some of the other reviews have pointed out and I am not sure if it
would be a deal breaker for me if I did notice.
This is a very cute needle point pen. As with some ballpoints, you'll see some
minor ink blobs as you write, but to me that can add some character to whatever
you'll be jotting down, so once again not a huge issue to me.
The single BEST thing about this pen, in all honesty, is the wonderful smell of
the wooden barrel. SERIOUSLY. Just like the smell of a library book, this
smell is instantly nostalgic and comforting. I would recommend it on that
alone.

My favorite ballpoint - it's compact, the hex body grips nicely, ink doesn't
skip and takes minimal pressure. Ink beads up on the tip a bit, but for me this
is a feature, because it comes out in my bolder strokes, capitals, etc., adding
some line variation like my fountain pen would. I think it improves strokes
more often than it makes random inkblots, but it probably depends on your
handwriting. It does rattle, and the wood body dents and scratches like a
wooden pencil would, but this is a six dollar knock-about pen, not some heirloom
piece. After I misplaced mine (it's cheap enough to misplace), I tried to
replace it with the Petit-B, which uses the same ink. Very well constructed,
but so small that I can't hold it without posting the cap, too skinny and too
slick for me to grip comfortably, skips a bit because I have to hold at a more
oblique angle, and the convenience of being tiny is totally outweighed by having
to open and post the cap. So anyway, I'm getting another one or two of these.

If you're somebody who enjoys using small pens or pencils, this is the pen for
you. It writes good, but this website has so many better pens for a far cheaper
price. I wouldn't purchase this pen again. It's way too pricey for it's size and
the ink doesn't last that long either.

Truly disappointed at the quality of this pen. For the amount paid for this
product, it is genuinely a let down. I was expecting a lot more. The body is
made of wood, which was good. The problems start with the internals of the pen.
The clicker is not smooth and not snug; it made rattling sounds. The pen rattles
when I write which to me is low quality and bad workmanship. Don't waste your
money!

An update from three weeks later: the more I use it the more I like it. It is

pen in my hand. I am on the JetPens site specifically to order another one in
case I leave this one somewhere!

Ohto Pieni Stripe Needle-Point Ballpoint Pen - 0.3 mm - Black Body
This pen is a nice petite body style to fit in my purse or pen case, but it has
a tendency to be scratchy. It writes much more smoothly on my Kokuyo Campus
Todai and Campus MIO papers than on regular American paper. So for those of you
who write primarily on beautiful smooth papers this pen will work just fine--for
those who don't you might have trouble with it cutting out. Another new pen I
got this week was the Pilot Acroball Smooth Writing Ballpoint .5mm. It has the
styling of a regular ballpoint pen (not like the metal of the Pieni) and the .5
tip is noticeably bigger--but it writes beautifully on any paper and is still
quite nice for those who like thin lines.

The pen itself is super cute but it writes terribly. I hate it. I generally love
0.3 mm pens and how they write, however this one is very scratchy and rattles as
I write. I can't stand it. My hand gets all crampy from trying to use it
extensively. This is just my opinion. Some may like their pens to write this
way. For what it lacks in writing ability it makes up for in style which is why
I at least gave it 2 stars.

I'm not really so wild about this one. I don't hate it, but the rattling that
other reviews have mentioned really is annoying. I have also found that this pen
doesn't always start up right away if I haven't used it in a while. I always
have to scribble a little to get it going. Its a shame, because it's a really
nice looking pen. I just don't find it as functional as I had hoped.

Ohto Pieni Wooden Body Mini Needle-Point Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Beige Body
I was looking for a fine point ballpoint pen..not gel ink and this pen looked
like it would fit the bill. When I first received it, I fell in love with
it...the way it writes, its weight and slimness. However, after less than 2
weeks of use, the retractor broke. I was able to fix it then but a week later it
stopped working again. Now I have to bang the pen point on a table to get the
point to retract and I haven't been able to fix it. So I won't be ordering
another one which is a shame because the pen itself met all my qualifications
for exactly what I wanted.

Wonderful pen. Small and slim, but the hexagonal body is easy to hold and use
for general use. Seems to write a finer line than the 0.5 would lead you to
believe, but it's smooth and I like it just fine. Brown color is deep and nice.
Clip doesn't seem particularly heavy-duty, but the overall aesthetics more than
make up for it.

Ohto Pieni Wooden Body Mini Needle-Point Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Pink Body
I am extremely impressed with this pen. I have tiny hands and this slim, small
barrel is very comfortable for me to use. I love the needle-point tip, too. This
pen writes very smoothly. I did not have the loose plunger problem that the
other reviewer had; there is no rattling sound when I write, thank goodness,
because I am very sensitive to noise and that would drive me bonkers. I plan to
buy more of these pens.

I purchased this pen to try out a pinpoint pen. This pen is wonderful. After
reading the other comment saying that the pen made an irritating noise - I
checked it out and all that is needed is for the plunger end to be twisted a
little and it tightened up and is silent when writing. I give this pen 5 stars!

Ohto Pieni Wooden Body Mini Needle-Point Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Brown Body
I haven't had any problem with noise, and the size, comfort and writing ability
of this pen are all quite fantastic. However, the wooden body ends up being a
real strike against it. The pen feels cheap in the hand, and it easily picks up
small nicks and dings. This is not the kind of pen I'm inclined to baby, and I'm
skeptical of the lifespan of this one

Ohto Pieni Wooden Body Mini Needle-Point Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Beige Body
I ventured out into needle point pens and I have to say they are fun! Boy, can
you write tiny with this. The pen is really thin and tiny but so are my hands,
so I am able to write with it without too much discomfort. The other review
mentions the rattling this pen makes while writing, and so I'm going to admit
something strange: I've always liked pens that make this rattle. I know, this is
a little peculiar, but it's true. Almost makes me feel like the pen is
interactive somehow. The rattle comes from the top clicker when in the in
position. It's a little "buzz" sound that somehow hits the spot with me. Again,
weird, I know.

Ohto Pieni Wooden Body Mini Needle-Point Ballpoint Pen - 0.5 mm - Yellow Body
I bought this pen because I enjoy using Ohto's other needle pens. While it
writes exactly the same as the other pens, I had to subtract two stars because
the plunger on the end is loose when the pen tip is out and makes a really,
really irritating rattling noise when you write. I'm no pen connoisseur but this
alone is enough to make me not want to use the pen on a regular basis. Such a
shame, because it is an attractive pen that feels good in the hand.
