Having held the Ohto 1500 before, I was very excited to receive this pencil. I think I got my hopes a little high though. Don't get me wrong, the pencil is nice, but Ohto needs to work a few kinks out. As the previous reviewer said, the tube and eraser cap rattle inside the barrel, and it can actually get fairly audible while you're writing. As a result, if you pull the eraser cap off, good luck erasing anything as the inner tube will bend and flex more than the eraser itself when you push down at all.

Besides these two big issues the pencil is a nice pencil, especially for the price. Unfortunately, the problems it has give it a very cheap feel, and I feel that something more like the graphgear 500 is money better spent.

Just got it today, in appearance the pencil has very great aesthetics and writes pretty well.

However the lead barrel inside is pretty loose so you can feel it shaking around when you hold it giving it a cheap feel.

I dislike the loose lead chamber however for the price it's not too bad.

Yes. I bought the complete set of 5. A great looking all-metal pencil for under $8/pc. Maybe the best set of pencils for the price. Great design, durable aluminum, unique-style grip, short-compact(138mm), thin barrel, ISO color-coded, long step-nose for high visibility. Earlier models have a course, coated metal-flake finish that is prone to scratching and scuffing but the current models have a smooth natural brushed-aluminum finish that has a nice sheen to it.

The best pencil you can buy for the price. I'm a mechanical pencil fanatic and there aren't but maybe three pencils that I would put above this one regardless of the price. The Lamy is about the best you can get here, but this Ohto is as good as any of the others.

Writes well, has a nice weight.
The finish of the body bothers me a little. It seems like the logo stuff will come off if I even lightly scratch it and.. I dunno lol
This is a nice pencil but it has a slight cheap vibe (could be just me being.. weird). I know it's not a $20 pen or anything, but it's still pricy for a pencil so.. yeah.
