See my other review for the Ohto Tasche Needle Ballpoint Pen. Again, Ohto "outdid" them on this one. The point for the pencil is positioned far enough in so I don't feel like I'm writing with a foot of metal out in front of my fingers, but yet the pipe that carries the lead is long enough for any drafting or mechanical engineering applications.

The photographs do not show the location of the eraser, but it is underneath the silver cap which holds that black rubber O-Ring. When you twist off the cap you can easily tell by "feel" alone that the threads were machined properly; there's no "scratchy" grinding.

Another outstanding feature is when you press the cap to advance lead. You get just the right amount. You don't get 2mm of lead, which will inevitably break; rather, your supplied with about .75 to 1mm of lead. . . that's PERFECT.

This is a very attractive mechanical pencil body. But each time I've had one, it's gotten a terrible jam and is rendered unusable unless you have a clean out rod! If you are willing to stop and fix your pencil every so often, the design of the Ohto Tasche is gorgeous and, despite its slimness, is very comftorable to write or draw with.

I am sorry I love this pen .... I would love to use it but it JAMS constantly ...... I am in class trying to take notes and jams.... you fix it take notes for another 10 min then jams again .... I am sorry to say, I would love to have this as my daily user, but it jams and wont let new lead advance through, the lead advance mech is horrible that is where the massive failure is I sent an Email to Ohto and never received a reply assuming they do not care that they made a defective product, I read many reviews of others mentioning these things, ignored them and here I am ..... I have had the pencil about 1.2 years now and have not used it past the first month. go get a graph gear , kerry, or tombow zoom 505, seriously don't look at this pencil!!! if you do buy this promise me you will write a bad review when you discover the same as I have....

Despite its size, it is very 'smooth', compact and good to write with. The downsize is that the lead that comes out is too small and you cant change it.

However i really like the smoothness of this.

I love this pencil, it is so easy to carry in a pocket, and it's balanced nicely. I liked it so much I ordered another one!
