This innovative sharpener has two holes (barrels). The first hole is used to sharpen the wood, and the second is used to sharpen the lead. An automatic brake prevents over-sharpening. The result is a sharp, long point. Other special design features include the hard, rust-resistant, high-carbon steel blades that are held securely in place by screws (versus rivets which may allow wobbling). The blades are razor-sharp and fitted onto cone-shaped holes designed to reduce friction, allowing you to turn and sharpen pencils with less force.
Each blade can sharpen pencils thousands of times, but may need to be replaced after fewer uses if it is frequently used for pencils of 3H or higher hardness. Two spare blades are included with this sharpener.
