This is one of the best manual pencil sharpeners. One hole exposes the lead, the other sharpens it to a needle sharp point. The sharpened pencil is perfectly centered and the crown (where the paint meets the raw wood) is level all the way around the pencil. It is precise, and does not waste the pencil length.

Wow, I love this sharpener. I'm always looking for a good handheld sharpener (my electric one stopped working, and even before it did, it didn't sharpen very well) and though this was a little pricey considering the money I'm used to spending on office supplies, I am simply in love. It feels a little cheap when you first touch it, but it has a very pleasing look and shape to it, and it sharpens like a dream -- I've never seen a sharpener that works the way this one does, sharpening the wood and then the lead separately, but it's really impressive. I almost wish the reservoir was bigger, but then I imagine the sharpener would get bulky and clumsy, so it's probably better this way. Really happy with this purchase!

Great sharpener! Makes pencils truly sharp. I like the automatic stop feature of step 1 of the sharpening process.

I cannot say enough nice things about this pencil sharpener. It doesn't mangle pencils and it always sharpens so nicely. Before my friends told me abut this pencil sharpener, I had ruined so many pencils. My pencils are much happier now.

A wonderful pencil sharpener....

A wonderful pencil sharpener. I own quite a few different ones and this is a new favorite along with my Faber Castell, brass, and Uni Mitsubishi sharpeners.

The fact that it sharpens the wood on one end and graphite in the other lets me play around with what I want to sharpen and when. Especially nice when I want to sharpen the very tip of my pencil without shaving off too much wood.

Awesome long point too!

I like it but I wish it would contain more. You pretty much have to empty it with every use.

This is a good sharpener. I hadn't used a "2-step" automatic brake sharpener and to tell you the truth I didn't know what I was missing. I was fuzzy on what the "automatic brake" in the name signified, until I used the thing. No more pencil points that were too dull or too ragged! If I have a criticism, it is that the shavings don't go into the chamber at the other end of the sharpener, so they have to be emptied after each use (or even during use), which is a little bit inconvenient. But still, it works well.
