Pelikan 4001 Fountain Pen Ink Collection - 30 ml Bottle - Brilliant Black

It's okay. Not great but not bad. The black isn't the darkest. It's more of a purple black. And the ink bleeds a little on cotton paper. But it seems to flow well. It's a decent black ink.

Using it with a Lamy CP1 Titanium - Medium nib - fountain pen.

1) Inexpensive
2) Nice flow in slower writing rate - Acceptable in fast
3) Very little gray edge feathering even in fast writing
4) Fast drying, no smearing
5) Very nice black depth but not exceptional
5) Excellent value for everyday use

I am not sure why previous reviewer said it was an OK black. In my expereince of using this ink for 20 plus years it is one of the BEST black ink avaliable. And I have used many of them. The only black that MIGHT be slightly darker is AURORA.

Nice smooth ink. More of a dark orange or brown orange than pure brown.

Just all-purpose ink, not very intense or very pale, with excellent flowability. No occlusion as in other inks, and yet a straight contour line drawing, even in porous papers. I award this ink with five stars in its category.
